What we do at Weir
We are a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future. We help our customers extract the resources the world needs more efficiently and more sustainably. Our planet’s future depends on the transition to renewable energy, and that transition can only happen with the metals and minerals our customers deliver. So, we work side by side with mines across the globe to move less rock, use less energy, use water wisely, and create less waste. Together, we drive the shift to smart, efficient, and more sustainable mining.

• Machine Tool Specialist Activities: Perform precision alignment and geometric accuracy checks, conduct laser alignment and machine calibration, install, commission, and relocate machine tools, perform machine rebuilds, retrofits, and major overhauls, analyze recurring equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actions, support machine tool upgrades and automation projects.
• Daily Role: The successful candidate will be actively engaged in maintaining and improving machine tool reliability and performance, ensuring minimal downtime and high operational efficiency.
• Success Metrics: Success will be measured by equipment availability, reduced breakdowns, timely maintenance completion, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Travel Requirements: Minimal travel is expected; primarily onsite work at the Artarmon location.
