Description

Be the one building AI-powered experiences where they matter most.

At Genesys, we help organizations create better customer experiences through AI-powered experience orchestration. Our platform connects people, systems, data and AI to help organizations deliver more personalized service, improve operational efficiency and build stronger customer relationships.

Help build, support and operate technology used by more than 8,000 organizations in over 100 countries – moving AI from possibility to production in real-world enterprise environments every day.

We're looking for a finance-minded leader to run our Americas Order Management and billing operation — someone who understands revenue recognition (ASC 606) deeply enough to make judgment calls on complex, non-standard contracts, and who can lead a team through the operational execution that follows.

This is not a traditional billing, AR, or collections role. We need someone who can look at a contract, understand how its terms affect revenue recognition timing, and confidently explain — and when necessary, challenge — how that translates into billing and financial reporting. Order Management process can be learned on the job. What we can't teach quickly is strong accounting judgment.

If your background is revenue accounting, technical accounting, or FP&A, and you're curious about moving into an operational leadership seat — this role was built with you in mind.

What You'll Do

Revenue & Accounting Judgment

  • Serve as the go-to resource for how contract terms, order changes, and billing decisions affect revenue recognition under ASC 606
  • Evaluate complex or non-standard customer contracts — performance obligations, variable consideration, contract modifications — and determine appropriate revenue treatment
  • Partner with Revenue Accounting, Deal Desk, Sales, and Legal to resolve ambiguous or high-risk revenue scenarios before they become downstream problems
  • Own and strengthen SOX/internal controls across the order-to-billing process; partner with Order Management Assurance on risk and controls
  • Be comfortable pushing back on Sales or Deal Desk when a deal structure creates revenue recognition risk

Team & Operational Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team responsible for Americas order management and billing execution
  • Own SLAs, KPIs, and workload planning across the team
  • Resolve complex order and billing escalations that require financial judgment, not just process knowledge
  • Drive accurate, timely, SOX-compliant execution through month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
  • Conduct transaction-level completeness and accuracy reviews

Process, Systems & Transformation

  • Identify and lead process improvement, automation, and AI-enabled efficiency initiatives
  • Standardize SOPs and decision frameworks to reduce manual validation, rework, and inconsistent execution
  • Partner on systems enhancements, UAT, and broader transformation initiatives (Salesforce, Workday, Zuora, or comparable platforms)
  • Build stronger integrity and reconciliation discipline across contracts, orders, billing systems, and the GL

What You Bring

Required

  • 8+ years of progressive experience spanning finance, revenue accounting, and/or order-to-cash operations
  • Genuine, hands-on knowledge of ASC 606 / revenue recognition — able to speak to specific contracts or scenarios where you personally determined or influenced revenue treatment
  • Experience navigating SOX / internal controls, including audit support (internal or external)
  • People management experience — leading, coaching, and developing a team
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and making judgment calls without a clean playbook
  • Strong reconciliation and data-integrity mindset across contracts, billing, and financial systems

Strongly Preferred

  • SaaS or technology industry experience
  • Experience at a large, recognizable company with mature finance/controls infrastructure
  • Exposure to Deal Desk, Sales, or Legal in a contract-review or revenue-advisory capacity
  • Systems experience with Salesforce, Workday, Zuora, or comparable Quote-to-Cash platforms
  • Experience leading or contributing to systems/process transformation initiatives

This role is not a fit if your experience is primarily:

  • AR, collections, cash application, or DSO-focused billing operations
  • GTM Revenue Operations (Salesforce administration, lead routing, pipeline/territory management)
  • Audit-only, without commercial or revenue recognition exposure
  • Transformation/PMO work without an accounting foundation

Why This Role

This team is being intentionally rebuilt with more structure, stronger financial judgment, and less manual, reactive work. You'll have real influence over how the Americas order-to-revenue process works — not just executing an existing playbook, but building the frameworks, controls, and standards that the function runs on going forward. It's a rare seat that lets you use deep accounting judgment in an operational leadership capacity, with a clear growth path as the organization scales.
