Description

Description

Lead. Innovate. Grow. Make an Impact.

Are you a consumer lending leader who knows that great lending is about more than approving loans?

We’re looking for a Consumer Lending Manager to lead the strategy, people, technology, and day-to-day operations behind our consumer lending portfolio. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact at a credit union where member experience, responsible growth, and strong relationships matter.

As Consumer Lending Manager, you’ll help shape the future of our consumer lending programs—from auto and personal loans to credit cards, recreational vehicles, overdraft lines, and Mass Save loans. You’ll partner with senior leadership to identify opportunities, leverage technology and data, improve processes, manage risk, and make it easier for members to access the credit they need.

If you’re energized by growing a business, developing people, solving problems, and finding smarter ways to serve members, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

Lead the Strategy

  • Partner with the Chief Lending Officer to develop and execute short- and long-term consumer lending strategies.
  • Drive growth, profitability, portfolio quality, and a differentiated member experience.
  • Monitor market conditions, competitive rates, lending trends, and member needs to identify opportunities.
  • Recommend new products, technologies, vendors, and processes that expand access to credit and strengthen our competitive position.
  • Help develop and manage the consumer lending strategic plan and annual budget.

Lead the Team

  • Inspire, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing consumer lending team.
  • Set clear goals and connect day-to-day activities to the Credit Union’s broader strategy.
  • Create an environment focused on accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and exceptional member service.
  • Oversee consumer loan processing, underwriting, decisioning, and funding.
  • Support employee development through training on lending products, policies, procedures, systems, and regulations.
  • Effectively lead and engage employees working in both remote and in-office environments.

Drive Innovation & Efficiency

  • Look for ways to simplify processes, improve workflows, and create a better experience for both members and employees.
  • Use technology, data, and automation to improve lending decisions and operational efficiency.
  • Administer and maintain the MeridianLink loan origination system, including users, products, processes, rates, and automated decisioning.
  • Evaluate opportunities to enhance lending technology and vendor relationships.
  • Monitor lending performance against established objectives and implement improvements that increase productivity and profitability.

Manage Risk & Compliance

  • Partner with Compliance to ensure consumer lending programs meet applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Stay current on regulatory changes and evaluate their impact on lending operations.
  • Help ensure the Credit Union maintains a safe, sound, and compliant consumer loan portfolio.
  • Partner with the Servicing Manager to maintain an effective Lending Quality Control/Assurance program.
  • Oversee consumer lending examinations, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Recommend changes to lending policies and oversee implementation of policies and procedures.

Manage Performance & Results

  • Monitor consumer lending production, portfolio quality, delinquency, charge-offs, and profitability.
  • Analyze and recommend consumer loan pricing and rates based on market conditions and Credit Union objectives.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and the Credit Committee.
  • Oversee lending-related reconciliations, invoices, general ledger activity, and reporting.
  • Review and resolve escalated member loan complaints and concerns.
