Overview

We are seeking an experienced QE Test Lead to support a large-scale business and technology transformation programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the overall testing strategy, establishing quality governance, coordinating testing activities across multiple technology workstreams, and leading a wider Quality Engineering team.

 

This role requires a strong testing background combined with leadership experience across complex delivery environments. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working within Agile product-led teams and managing both internal and supplier-led testing activities to ensure successful programme delivery

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the overall test strategy and quality approach across the programme.
  • Establish quality governance frameworks, standards, metrics, and reporting.
  • Develop and manage programme-level test plans, schedules, risks, and dependencies.
  • Lead and coordinate testing activities across multiple workstreams and delivery teams.
  • Manage cross-functional and supplier-led test teams.
  • Oversee functional, integration, system, regression, and data testing activities.
  • Drive adoption of Quality Engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure effective test coverage across business processes, integrations, and data flows.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Developers, and Delivery Leads to embed quality throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Manage defects, testing risks, and quality-related issues through to resolution.
  • Provide regular quality reporting and test status updates to programme stakeholders.
  • Support release planning, deployment activities, and production readiness assessments.

Essential skills

  • Strong understanding of Quality Engineering principles and testing best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate distributed and supplier-led testing teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a QE Lead, Test Lead, or Test Manager within large-scale transformation programmes.
  • Strong experience testing Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) solutions.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Strong API and integration testing experience.
  • Proven experience in data testing, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Experience working within Agile and product-centric delivery environments.
  • Experience developing test strategies, test plans, and quality governance frameworks.
  • Experience with AI/ML testing and validation.
  • Experience implementing test automation strategies.
  • Exposure to cloud-based platforms and integration architectures.
  • Experience within regulated or complex enterprise environments.
