Description
Who we are looking for:
At State Street, our purpose is to help create better outcomes for the world's investors and the people they serve. We partner with many of the world's leading asset managers, owners, and financial institutions, providing investment servicing, data and analytics, investment research, and trading services.
Join our Fund Accounting team and build your expertise supporting Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). ETFs are one of the fastest growing segments of the global investment industry, offering exposure to a diverse range of asset classes, investment strategies and markets. You will work in a collaborative, control-focused environment where accuracy, timeliness and continuous improvement are central to the service we provide.
Why This Role Is Important to Us:
Fund Accounting is at the heart of our Asset Servicing business. Our teams play a critical role in delivering accurate and timely Net Asset Values (NAVs) and reporting to our clients.
As a Fund Accountant, Associate II, you will apply established fund accounting knowledge to complete daily ETF deliverables with increasing independence. This is an individual contributor role with no people-management responsibility. You will be expected to take ownership of assigned funds and tasks, resolve routine issues and escalate material risks appropriately.
What You Will Be Responsible For:
Produce and validate daily NAVs and related deliverables for assigned ETF portfolios in line with agreed deadlines and control standards.
Complete daily controls and maintain clear, audit-ready evidence of work performed.
Take ownership of routine queries and liaise effectively with internal teams including Custody, Transfer Agency, Pricing, Trade Support and Client Service.
Build practical knowledge of ETF structures, primary-market activity, investment instruments and the operational dependencies supporting the daily NAV.
Support the onboarding of new funds, changes to existing funds and other team deliverables as required.
Contribute to procedure maintenance, process improvement, standardization and automation initiatives.
What We Value:
A developing track record in fund accounting, investment operations, financial services or another relevant analytical environment.
Ability to complete recurring deliverables accurately and reliably, with less supervision than an entry-level Associate I.
Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills, with careful attention to detail.
A control mindset and the judgement to distinguish routine exceptions from issues requiring escalation.
Ability to organize competing priorities and remain effective in a deadline-driven daily production environment.
Clear written and verbal communication, with a collaborative and client-focused approach.
Curiosity about financial markets, ETF products and opportunities to improve how work is performed.
Education & Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Business / Financial Services or related.
Typically, 1-3 years of relevant experience in fund accounting, investment operations, administration, financial services or a comparable environment.
Working knowledge of fund accounting principles, reconciliations and NAV production is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and confidence working with financial data.
