Mō te tūranga | About the Role
This is a fixed-term parental leave cover opportunity through to January 2028.
Reporting to the Supplier Payments Lead, you will play a key role in supporting Westpac New Zealand's supplier payment’s function and helping to ensure efficient, cost-effective business operations. Leveraging best practice supplier payments processes and continuous improvement methodologies, you'll contribute to delivering an exceptional service across the business.
As the Supplier Payments Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring invoices are received, processed and distributed appropriately across Westpac New Zealand, and that purchase orders are raised accurately and in accordance with established processes. You'll manage payment activities across Oracle and Basware, undertake associated reconciliations and recertifications, and provide subject matter expertise across Procurement Operations. Working closely with the Procurement and Properties team, you'll support both existing and new initiatives while maintaining a strong focus on process excellence and continuous improvement.

Solid accounts payable experience, ideally within financial services or a similar complex environment
Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Advanced computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Outlook) and ERP platforms such as Oracle
Experience working with leading payments or procurement systems such as Ariba, SAP or Oracle Procurement
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
