Description

The Applications Development Group Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Core Development & Architecture:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and reliable Java-based applications using Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.
  • Lead the architectural design and implementation of complex microservices-based systems, ensuring loose coupling and high cohesion.
  • Develop and consume RESTful APIs and web services to support various business functionalities.
  • Implement event-driven architectures using messaging tools for real-time data processing and inter-service communication.
  • Design and implement robust data models and interact with databases to ensure data integrity and performance.
  • Front-End Development:

  • Develop and maintain responsive and user-friendly front-end interfaces using Angular.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate wireframes and mockups into functional and visually appealing web applications.
  • Ensure seamless integration between the front-end and back-end services.
  • Technical Leadership & Mentorship:

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices, code quality, and performance standards.
  • Lead technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies and advocate for their adoption where appropriate.
  • DevOps & Quality Assurance:

  • Work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software in a timely manner.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and deployments.
  • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure the quality and reliability of the software.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in development, test, and production environments.
  • Collaboration & Communication:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders, to gather and analyze requirements.
  • Effectively communicate technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.

Recommended Qualifications:

  • 14+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in Loan IQ SDK applications development
  • Experience in Lending business is preferred.
  • Having knowledge in Finastra LIQ is added advantage.
  • Experience in management
  • Experience managing global technology teams
  • Working knowledge of industry practices and standards
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
