About the role

This is your opportunity to play a key role in shaping how products move across one of Australia's largest retail supply chain networks. Working alongside carrier partners, supply chain teams and stakeholders across the business, you'll help deliver safe, efficient and cost-effective transport solutions that keep our stores and customers supported every day.

As our State Transport Operations Lead (VIC/TAS), you'll take ownership of supplier pick-up and store delivery performance across the region, leading relationships with 3PL transport providers and driving continuous improvement across linehaul, intrastate and depot operations.

This role offers a unique chance to influence network performance, strengthen strategic partnerships and identify smarter ways of working that improve service while reducing cost.

What's involved

  • Lead transport operations across the VIC/TAS supplier store delivery network, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient outcomes.
  • Partner closely with 3PL carriers to deliver strong service performance and achieve operational targets.
  • Act as the key escalation point for transport operations across supplier pick-ups, linehaul, intrastate movements and carrier depot activities.
  • Foster a strong safety and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) culture through effective governance, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Use operational and financial data to identify opportunities, improve performance and support informed decision making.
  • Collaborate with teams across Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement and Operations to align transport strategies with broader business goals.
  • Manage transport cost performance, forecasting and reporting while identifying opportunities to optimise network efficiency.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement with internal and external partners, balancing safety, service and cost outcomes.

About You

You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment where building trusted relationships and influencing positive outcomes are key to success. You're someone who enjoys solving complex operational challenges, working collaboratively with stakeholders and turning insights into action.

We're looking for someone who brings curiosity and a practical approach to problem solving, while fostering strong relationships both internally and externally.

Most importantly, you'll be passionate about creating better outcomes for customers, carrier partners and colleagues by finding opportunities to improve the way we work.

What you'll need

  • 5+ years' experience in transport operations, logistics or carrier management.
  • Strong understanding of transport legislation, compliance requirements and Chain of Responsibility obligations.
  • Experience managing and influencing third-party carrier relationships.
  • Commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, analysing costs and identifying efficiencies.
  • Strong analytical capability with experience using operational data and performance metrics to drive improvements.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence across multiple levels.
  • Understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations.
  • Experience working with Transport Management Systems (TMS) and related logistics technologies is highly regarded.
  • Degree qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or a related discipline

You’ll be part of a workplace where you’ll feel like you belong.
