This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as a Component Planner in one of our factories in Valladolid, Spain with Signify.
The Component Planner is responsible for ensuring the availability of components and raw materials required to support production, customer demand, and inventory targets. This role manages material requirements planning (MRP), supplier coordination, inventory optimization, and shortage management to maintain uninterrupted manufacturing operations while minimizing inventory costs.
This role works closely with Procurement, Production Planning, Manufacturing, Logistics, Suppliers, and Customer Service teams to balance supply and demand and proactively mitigate material supply risks.
Material Planning & Inventory Management
· Execute MRP and analyze system recommendations to generate component requirements.
· Develop and maintain short-, medium-, and long-term component supply plans.
· Monitor inventory levels to ensure components are available to meet production schedules.
· Manage safety stock levels and inventory parameters in line with business objectives.
· Identify and resolve potential shortages, excess inventory, and obsolete stock.
· Support inventory reduction initiatives while maintaining service levels.
Supplier Coordination
· Communicate component requirements and forecasts to suppliers.
· Monitor supplier deliveries and confirm adherence to committed schedules.
· Expedite critical materials when supply risks are identified.
· Collaborate with Procurement and suppliers to address capacity constraints, quality issues, and delivery performance concerns.
· Support supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
Production Support
· Ensure material availability for manufacturing plans and customer orders.
· Participate in daily and weekly review meetings.
· Coordinate actions to mitigate material shortages affecting production.
· Support engineering changes, product launches, and phase-out activities.
Supply Chain Analysis
· Analyze demand trends, supply performance, and inventory metrics.
· Maintain planning master data including lead times, lot sizes, and safety stock settings.
· Generate reports and KPIs related to inventory, shortages, and supplier performance.
· Identify opportunities to improve planning processes and supply chain efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Work closely with Demand Planning, Production Planning, Purchasing, Logistics, and Operations teams.
· Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes.
· Contribute to supply chain risk management and business continuity planning.
More about you

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
At least 2 years of working experience in supply chain, material planning, inventory planning, production planning, or procurement.
Interest or previous experience in a manufacturing environment would be highly preferred.
Data analysis and reporting skills, and experience working with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or Microsoft Dynamics.
Understanding of MRP, inventory management, and supply planning principles, as well as production processes and supplier management.
Strong communication skills in English as well as in Spanish.
Team collaboration and a continuous improvement mindset.
Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail, as well as good organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Stakeholder management skills.
