Job Description
We are seeking a high-impact Principal Architect to serve as our central subject matter expert in global e-invoicing, regulatory compliance, and platform architecture. This is a senior individual contributor role with organization-wide reach, operating beyond traditional single-project allocation to influence delivery, pre-sales, and customer strategy. In this role, you will be the definitive go-to authority across all delivery projects, pre-sales engagements, and customer-facing interactions. You will leverage your deep mastery of the Pagero platform, hands-on integration expertise, and understanding of national e-invoicing authorities to solve complex technical challenges, shape strategic solutions, and translate intricate regulatory frameworks into clear, actionable guidance for our teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Cross-Project Advisory & Escalation
- Serve as the senior technical and functional escalation authority across all active delivery projects, resolving complex platform, integration, and compliance roadblocks.
- Diagnose and solve the most challenging edge cases across the delivery portfolio, including non-standard ERP configurations, complex data transformation requirements, and multi-country mandate flows.
- Design and establish reusable reference architectures, standard configuration templates, playbooks, and best-practice frameworks to scale delivery quality and consistency across the organization.
Pre-Sales & Commercial Enablement
- Act as the dedicated Pagero platform and compliance expert for sales and pre-sales teams, providing deep functional and technical insight without holding direct ownership of SOW creation or pricing.
- Advise solution architects and pre-sales consultants on platform capabilities, limitations, architectural fit, and feasibility.
- Participate in high-stakes, customer-facing technical discussions for strategic enterprise opportunities.
- Review proposed solution designs from pre-sales and delivery teams to ensure technical accuracy, platform feasibility, and regulatory alignment.
Customer Mandate & Regulatory Guidance
- Act as the trusted advisor for enterprise clients navigating complex global e-invoicing mandates, clearance flows, format specifications (e.g., Peppol, UBL, XML), and government platform integrations.
- Engage directly with customer stakeholders and liaise with national e-invoicing and tax authorities when necessary to secure formal regulatory clarifications.
- Author and review customer-facing compliance roadmaps, mandate checklists, and country-specific onboarding documentation.
Team Onboarding, Training & Knowledge Management
- Own the technical onboarding journey for new team members, developing and executing structured onboarding programs that build Pagero platform and compliance proficiency from day one.
- Foster continuous skill development across delivery teams through tailored training sessions, hands-on coaching, certification guidance, and internal knowledge-sharing forums.
- Build, maintain, and expand an internal Pagero Knowledge Base and learning curriculum covering country-specific mandates, integration patterns, and platform updates.
- Partner with delivery leadership to identify capability gaps across teams and deploy targeted technical enablement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Deep Pagero Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience and expert-level functional and technical mastery of the Pagero platform ecosystem.
- Domain Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of global e-invoicing regulations, continuous transaction controls (CTC), clearance models, Peppol networks, and digital tax reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Integration & ERP Proficiency: Strong technical background in enterprise application integration (EAI), API frameworks, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics), alongside deep familiarity with standard data formats (XML, JSON, EDI, UBL, CSV).
- Architecture & Advisory Experience: Substantial experience operating in a Lead Architect, Principal Consultant, or Senior Subject Matter Expert capacity across complex enterprise deployments.
- Pre-Sales Acumen: Demonstrated track record supporting pre-sales teams with technical solution reviews, discovery calls, and RFP responses.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical and regulatory nuances to both executive business leaders and technical engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience directly interfacing or collaborating with national tax authorities, e-invoicing standard bodies, or working groups.
- Demonstrated experience establishing a Center of Excellence (CoE) or structured technical training and onboarding curriculum within an enterprise technology or consulting environment.
- Relevant industry or architecture certifications (e.g., TOGAF, Cloud Certifications, or ERP-specific accreditations).
- Multilingual proficiency, particularly in languages relevant to major emerging e-invoicing mandate regions (e.g., Spanish, French, German, Arabic).
