About the role
The Head of Complex Multinational Solutions will act as a global multinational fronting subject matter expert and focal point for promotion, design, delivery and governance of AIG’s Captive & Fronted Multinational solutions and service:
Responsibilities:
- partnering with all relevant stakeholders to lead development, and support execution, of multinational fronting growth plans, providing support for the strategic promotion and positioning of AIG’s market leading complex & captive multinational fronted solutions & services.
- coordinating field-based input and lead field-based execution of program guidance, governance, and oversight of AIG’s Complex Multinational Fronting portfolio.
- engaging directly with select key clients & prospects and across AIG’s Complex & Captive Multinational Fronted portfolio in support of assigned Multinational Client Executives
- interfacing with the Global Fronting CUO, Reinsurance Leadership, MN Product Leaders and other stakeholders as appropriate to:
- assure proper integration of MN Fronting & Product underwriting and Reinsurance, leading MN Fronting compliance, training talent development, and thought leadership
- represent Multinational in all relevant reinsurance forums, including IRTAB, Monthly MN Reinsurance calls & Strategic reinsurance working groups.
- This role reports directly to the Global Head of Multinational, General Insurance.
- What you need to know:
- • Lead AIG’s Complex Multinational Fronting Client Engagement for an assigned portfolio of selected Multinational Fronting clients/prospects (MN Tier 1 & 2)
- • Support communication of AIG’s Captive & MN Fronting Value Proposition including responsibility for related sales collateral supporting AIG’s Captive & MN Fronting's “Right to Win” marketing initiative
- • Develop, deliver and support AIG’s Captive & Multinational Fronting thought leadership
- • Participate in a larger effort to identify preferred captive & MN fronting clients based on overall relationship with AIG, and absent or in advance of coordination among all responsible areas, create a tactical approach to identifying preferred clients that can be effective in the short-term
- • Engage with assigned client-facing teams to participate in, and relay, messages regarding multinational fronting program structure, AIG requirements (pricing, collateral, structure), with a focus on top MN Tier (1 & 2) clients, large new opportunities, and programs where changes are or need to be made
- • Support assessment and escalation of High Limit Referrals across the global MN Fronted portfolio
- • Oversee program design and transactional efficacy across AIG’s global Multinational Fronted portfolio (MN Tier 1 & 2), assessing existing programs, participating on development of new programs, and mandating and helping to execute improvements
- • Work with claims to ensure Multinational Fronting related claims are handled in a proactive manner ensuring claims stands out as a competitive differential for AI
Participate in:
- Relevant Reinsurance related forums, including IRTAB & the Monthly MN reinsurance call
- MN reinsurance transformation workstreams related to Fronting, including continuing to lead the MN Reinsurance Aggregator workstream
- Oversight MN Fronting quality control, governance and compliance – matching guidelines to practice, which in turn informs training and authority
- Proactively identify Multinational Fronting training opportunities in consultation with Multinational, CUO, Product Leadership and take primary responsibility for organizing and implementing them
- Work with GF CUO to:
- assess delegations and put in place any changes agreed with MN regional leadership and CUO
- revise MN Fronting underwriting guidelines and procedures and implement training
- assess Fronting fee rater and pricing approach
- contribute to developing the underwriting strategy and guidelines regarding large exposures; longer tenors; product-specific appetite; other parameters
- Lead MN Fronting-related Schedule F reduction efforts, including gathering and coordinating the information and message related to increased collateral requirements as these expand in the coming years and direct involvement in client-facing discussions
What we’re looking for:
- 10+ years of insurance experience in positions of increasing authority, including significant experience handling large Multinational Fronting portfolios & client relationships.
- Inspiring leader able to engage, influence and train colleagues and be a high performing team member.
- Knowledge of Fronting, captive management and multinational business across multiple lines of business in multiple markets, including structuring, credit, reinsurance, financial, legal and regulatory aspects.
- Excellent influencing and communications skills including effective engagement with senior level managers across multiple levels and areas of the company, and externally with key clients and broker partners.
