We’re looking for a Patient Access Team Lead to help keep our clinic running smoothly while ensuring every patient receives a welcoming, professional experience from the moment they arrive.
As the Patient Access Team Lead, you’ll provide day-to-day support and leadership for the Patient Access team, helping ensure schedules, registration processes, training, and patient service standards are consistently met.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assist with daily department scheduling and the monthly preparation of staff schedules.
- Support department operations and help resolve day-to-day issues.
- Assist with developing and preparing training and educational materials for Patient Access staff.
- Participate in the orientation and on-the-job training of new employees and registration staff who need additional support to meet performance standards.
- Perform patient registration and access functions using computer systems, printers, copiers, fax machines, calculators, directories, and departmental reference materials.
- Collect and verify patient demographic, insurance, and limited medical information.
- Obtain required patient signatures for consents and authorizations.
- Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality in accordance with hospital policies and applicable regulations.
- Print and distribute registration documents according to hospital policy.
- Provide patients, families, and visitors with assistance, information, and directions.
- Collect payments and process patient account transactions.
- Contact insurance companies and physician offices to obtain certification and/or authorization for inpatient or observation admissions.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with insurance companies, physician offices, patients, families, visitors, and healthcare staff.
- Help promote a positive, patient-centered experience throughout the registration process.
- Participate in employee training, orientation, and ongoing staff development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Job Description
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1–2 years of previous medical or healthcare experience.
