The QA/QC Field Engineer is a technical assistant to the field, acting as an internal liaison between the field, Project Management team, Preconstruction Team, and remote support teams. The QA/QC Field Engineer is expected to attend regular project meetings, support the setup and maintenance of the QA/QC software(s), coordinate internally and with other contractors, and assist the Project Manager with tracking of status, labor, financials, and contract requirements. This role also supports the technical tools (i.e. iPads, QA/QC software), communicates project specifications needed, and any support details/drawings needed for QA/QC tasks (i.e. details of equipment layout, dimensions, equipment gear windows, RFI & Submittal updates) needed to keep the installation and QA/QC resources efficient.
The ideal candidate must be proficient in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office Suite, willing and able to learn project checklist and issue management software packages, and able to effectively communicate with a broad range of teams. Knowledge of electrical terminology and components is preferred.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: 4 years of related experience
or
Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management
Travel: 0-100%
Work Schedule: Schedule may vary and can include, but is not limited to: nights, weekends, and holidays. Overtime may be required. Ability to work a flexible schedule is necessary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads training needs for technology tools, software applications, and SOP’s.
- Understands relational data sets for equipment and feeders and able to generate reports from such data.
- Ensures detailed procedures and checklists are in place to document that equipment is installed and energized to the project requirements, applicable standards, as well as customer requirements and specifications.
- Assembles project information that documents that the installation conforms to project requirements, applicable standards as well as customer requirements.
- Collects and enters data for KPI reporting and visual reporting.
- Provides support material and reports to project leads as required.
- Provides support for commissioning activities.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
