Lead, Enterprise Resource Groups
The Lead, Enterprise Resource Groups (ERGs) is accountable for the overall strategy, effectiveness, and evolution of BMO's enterprise ERG program. This role enables and empowers a network of employee-led communities that foster connection, professional growth, inclusion, and engagement across the organization. Working in partnership with ERG leaders, executive sponsors, and senior stakeholders, the role ensures the ERG program is aligned to BMO's Inclusion strategy, delivers measurable impact, and helps strengthen BMO's engaged and high performing Winning Culture.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the Enterprise ERG Strategy
- Develop and evolve BMO's enterprise ERG strategy, governance model, and operating framework in alignment with BMO's Inclusion strategy and business priorities.
- Establish program goals, priorities, and success measures that strengthen employee engagement, belonging, and community impact.
- Identify emerging trends and opportunities to continuously enhance the ERG program and member experience.
2. Enable and Develop ERG Leaders
- Partner with ERG Chairs and leadership teams to define annual priorities, establish operating plans, and drive effective execution.
- Provide guidance, tools, frameworks, and best practices to support communications, programming, events, membership growth, and governance.
- Design and deliver leadership development opportunities that strengthen the capability and effectiveness of ERG leaders.
3. Partner with Executive Sponsors and Senior Leaders
- Serve as the primary advisor to Executive Sponsors and senior stakeholders on ERG strategy, priorities, and opportunities.
- Build strong partnerships across People & Culture and business groups to advance ERG objectives and secure appropriate support and resources.
- Facilitate regular governance and stakeholder forums to drive alignment, share leading practices, and address opportunities or challenges.
4. Drive Employee Engagement and Community Building
- Lead enterprise-wide initiatives, programs, and events that foster inclusion, connection, professional development, and engagement.
- Support collaboration across ERGs to maximize impact, share resources, and deliver a consistent employee experience.
- Develop and execute communication strategies that increase awareness, participation, and engagement across the ERG network.
5. Measure Impact and Strengthen Program Effectiveness
- Establish and oversee a measurement framework to evaluate participation, engagement, business impact, and program effectiveness.
- Analyze and interpret data to provide insights, recommendations, and regular reporting to senior leadership.
- Use data, employee feedback, and industry leading practices to continuously improve program outcomes and effectiveness.
6. Program Governance and Operations
- Oversee the day-to-day management, administration, budget, and governance of the Enterprise ERG Program.
- Manage program risks, policies, vendor relationships, and operational processes to ensure effective execution.
- Lead change management activities related to program enhancements and new initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Program management skills - In-depth/Expert.
- Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.
- Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth / Expert.
- Analytical and problem solving skills - In-depth / Expert.

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.
Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
