Description

At Thales, we know technology has the ability to make our world more secure, sustainable, and inclusive – and that it’s all driven by human intelligence.

Because it takes human intelligence to build and power the systems and solutions that people depend on every day. So we stay curious and make space for diverse points of view. We share what we know and we challenge what’s possible.

We’re driving progress in some of the world’s most important industries - from the bottom of the oceans to the depths of space and cyberspace - and from manufacturing to engineering, we work together to build a future we can all trust.

Imperva, a Thales company, is a globally recognized cybersecurity leader, dedicated to securing data and applications across diverse environments. Our cutting-edge solutions empower organizations to safeguard their most critical assets, ensuring robust protection against emerging threats.

Senior Manager, IT Infrastructure

About the company:

Imperva, a Thales company, is a leading cybersecurity provider delivering best-in-class solutions to protect data and applications across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. Our customers, from innovative startups to Fortune 500 enterprises, trust us to secure their digital experiences at scale.

We’re proud to be recognized as one of Israel’s Top 50 High-Tech Companies to Work For in 2025 (Dun & Bradstreet) and offer a flexible hybrid work model from our Tel Aviv Rehovot office.

The role:

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Manager to lead a global team of five IT infrastructure engineers located across Israel, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The team is responsible for the design, operation, security, resilience, and continuous improvement of the organization’s on-premises data centers and cloud infrastructure.

As Senior Manager, IT Infrastructure, you will provide both people leadership and technical direction. You will shape the infrastructure strategy, establish priorities, and remain accountable for team deliverables, service performance, operational metrics, and continuous improvement. You will build strong working relationships with key stakeholders across Engineering, Cloud Operations, Product Development, Finance, Cybersecurity, and other business organizations.

We are looking for a proactive leader who continually identifies opportunities to improve reliability, scalability, security, cost efficiency, and service quality. The successful candidate will promote an automation-first culture and apply infrastructure as code, intelligent monitoring, AI-assisted operations, and modern engineering practices to reduce manual effort and improve operational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, prioritize, delegate, and supervise the day-to-day operations and project activities of a global team of five infrastructure engineers.
  • Own the infrastructure budget and work closely with Finance to manage actual expenditures, forecasts, capacity plans, licensing, and infrastructure investments.
  • Proactively monitor the complete infrastructure environment to optimize availability, capacity, performance, security, reliability, and cost.
  • Work closely with Product Development, Engineering, Cloud Operations, Cybersecurity, and other business partners to identify pain points and implement solutions that improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Maintain, administer, and troubleshoot hardware, operating systems, databases, virtualization platforms, storage, backup systems, and other infrastructure technologies.
  • Manage the overall operation, maintenance, lifecycle, capacity, security, and resilience of corporate data centers.
  • Design, manage, and continuously improve cloud infrastructure across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Establish a consistent hybrid-cloud architecture that integrates on-premises environments, data centers, and public cloud services.
  • Identify and implement appropriate AI-assisted automation and AIOps use cases, including event correlation, anomaly detection, capacity forecasting, incident prevention, automated remediation, documentation, and operational knowledge management.
  • Ensure AI-enabled infrastructure solutions are implemented securely and responsibly, with appropriate controls for data protection, access, validation, auditability, and human oversight.
  • Establish and maintain infrastructure security standards, including vulnerability remediation, patch management, identity and access controls, secrets management, network segmentation, and least-privilege access.
  • Lead infrastructure incident response and act as the escalation point for significant business or technical issues related to IT infrastructure.
  • Define and measure team and individual operational metrics against established goals and use the results to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead capacity planning, technology lifecycle management, disaster recovery, backup, business continuity, and infrastructure resilience initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors, cloud providers, managed service providers, and other external partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of people-management experience.
  • 5–7 years of IT infrastructure experience.
  • Fluency in English
  • Experience leading distributed technical teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Hands-on data center and hybrid-cloud experience.
  • Experience with VMware/vSphere and AWS; Azure or GCP knowledge preferred.
  • Experience with Terraform and SaltStack or Ansible.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container platforms.
  • Knowledge of operating systems and databases.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
  • Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting skills.
  • Experience with monitoring, observability, and automated remediation.
  • Practical knowledge of AI-assisted operations and AIOps.
  • Strong infrastructure security, backup, and disaster-recovery knowledge.
  • Experience with budgeting, capacity planning, and vendor management.
  • Demonstrated technical excellence and continuous improvement.
