The Customer Application Engineer is a key experienced role within the Commercial Service organization, responsible for leading the definition, preparation, and management of the technical portion of LTSA proposals, with ownership of complex scopes, cost assumptions, and customer-facing technical deliverables.
As a CSA Customer Application Engineer you will be responsible for:
Interpreting customer technical requirements,
Defining and challenging the service Scope of Work,
Validating assumptions for existing and new technologies,
Ensuring cost accuracy, and identifying and mitigating technical and contractual risks.
Partnering with commercial, sales, engineering, and regional teams to optimize proposal competitiveness and will actively support customer negotiations on technical, operational, and risk-related topics.
Acting as a technical partner for the regional commercial team, contributing to deal strategy, driving alignment across functions, and supporting the development of competitive, risk-balanced, and customer-focused proposals.

To be successful in this role you will have
Bachelor’s degree in technical field from an accredited college or university
5-10 years of relevant industry experience in roles such as Project Engineer, Design Engineer, Application Engineer, Project Manager, or similar technical/commercial positions, with proven ability to manage complex scopes and customer-facing activities
Fluent spoken and written English
Traveling with short notice
Desired:
Master’s degree in engineering with focus on turbo-machinery from an accredited college or university
Industrial market knowledge and proven experience in service, commercial, project execution, or application engineering environments
Solid technical knowledge of rotating machinery, particularly gas turbines, including maintenance concepts, service scopes, and lifecycle cost drivers
Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers, senior stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while taking ownership of assigned deliverables
Able to communicate complex technical and commercial topics clearly and effectively to peers, leaders, and customers
Able to work autonomously, lead the development of complex technical/commercial solutions
GB/BB certified

For Italy:The initial pay range for this position will be 43.600,00 - 70.000,00 EUR Annual .
The provisions of Contratto Collettivo Industria Metalmeccanica e della installazione di impianti will be applied to this position. Section VI – Titolo IV of that collective bargaining agreement relates to pay
