Position Overview: (Day Shift)
Responsible for plastic injection operations of the facility in an industrial organization. The injection molding machine operator is responsible for safely operating multiple injection systems on a 12-hour shift ensuring preform quality and machine efficiency meets Amcor’s standards. They must be well organized and be able to safely fulfill their duties which includes supporting the production team with technical needs.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintains standard production objectives through proper machine operation and accurately records production. Communicates production information at shift change.
- Knows and practices safe and proper start-up and shut-down procedures for each machine.
- Visually inspect preforms.
- Adjust production profile when required to obtain the finest perform quality.
- Collect daily AA samples as per schedule provided.
- Confirm regrind usage and percentage.
- Has authority to stop machines/production to communicate machine problems and breakdowns to Production Supervisor and/or Maintenance.
- Assist mechanic when the machine is down for maintenance (during PM).
- Train material handler and injection room on basic machine operations.
- Communicate clearly with all team members.
- Communicate clearly with quality technicians when dealing with quality issues.
- Work closely with PM team to improve skills and knowledge pertaining to machine operators.
- Work on mold machines for preventative maintenance.
- Report any machine deficiencies to shift mechanic.
- Identify and prevent the possible causes of problems related to the profile or potential mechanical break.
- Perform required quality testing and complete all production reports as well as completing daily checklist. Machine profile confirmation as per current profile sheet.
- Review daily logbook.
- Maintains housekeeping of all assigned areas. This includes applying Good Manufacturing Practices to meet plant goals.
- Performs other related duties as directed by the production supervisor.
Education, Skills & Experience:
- Basic machine operation knowledge that includes profile knowledge of injection machine and dryers.
- Machine mold and auxiliary equipment knowledge.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to read, write and understand English.
- Ability to recognize and understand numbers and values and enter this information into an on-line database accurately.
- Ability to visually distinguish fine variations in color and other visual defects.
- Proficient hand/eye coordination to operate equipment.
- Ability to visually and mentally make priority decisions and independent judgment calls based on the situation at hand.
- Ability to efficiently and effectively use a computer and related software.
- Ability to work all shifts and required overtime.

Pay Transparency Statement – Compensation
The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $25.15 to $26.35; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages, and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location.
