Overview
AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Lead Contracts Manager to support the delivery of major pharmaceutical and life sciences capital investment projects for a leading global client in Cork.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing Project & Programme Management team and play a key role in the commercial and contractual management of complex capital projects. Working as part of an integrated Owner's Representative team, you will lead procurement, contract administration, change management, commercial negotiations, and contractor performance management across a portfolio of high-value investments.
As a trusted advisor to both the client and project delivery teams, you will help ensure that contracts are structured, administered, and managed effectively to support successful project outcomes while protecting the client's commercial interests.
Your role
- Lead procurement and contracting activities for major pharmaceutical CAPEX projects.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project and business objectives.
- Prepare and manage RFPs, tender documentation, bid evaluations and contract awards.
- Lead commercial and contractual negotiations with contractors, consultants, suppliers and vendors.
- Draft, administer and manage construction, engineering, equipment supply and service contracts.
- Act as the primary point of contact for commercial and contractual matters on assigned projects.
- Manage change control processes, including the assessment and negotiation of change orders and contractor claims.
- Review and administer payment applications, contract variations and commercial correspondence.
- Monitor contractor and supplier compliance with contractual obligations and project requirements.
- Work closely with project controls and finance teams to support cost forecasting and financial reporting.
- Support project teams in identifying contractual risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Oversee contract close-out activities and ensure contractual deliverables are completed in accordance with project requirements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project contracting systems, processes and governance.
About you
- Relevant years of experience in contract management, procurement, commercial management or construction management.
- Significant experience delivering large-scale pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, industrial or major capital projects.
- Demonstrable experience administering complex construction and engineering contracts.
- Experience managing procurement activities from prequalification through tendering, negotiation and contract award.
- Proven ability to manage change orders, claims, disputes and commercial negotiations.
- Strong understanding of EPCM, EPC and construction project delivery models.
- Knowledge of standard forms of contract and contract administration principles.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills.
- Experience working within client-side, consultancy or EPCM environments would be advantageous.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
- Professional membership with RICS, SCSI, CIOB, AACE, Engineers Ireland or equivalent is desirable.
- Relevant procurement, contract management or commercial management certifications would be advantageous.
