Job Profile Summary:
- The Senior JV Accountant, working under limited supervision, is responsible for conducting and documenting moderate to complex joint venture accounting projects. This role also is responsible for identifying, diagnosing, and recommending solutions while collaborating across disciplines and contributing to both company and JV Accounting department’s performance and goals. The role establishes and upholds control procedures to maintain financial integrity with GAAP accounting principles and COPAS standards
- Primary responsibilities include hosting and responding to JV Audits and working with external JV Partners to resolve questions on JIB billings. Duties can also include reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, and special projects as assigned. Must be able to work effectively with peers and other management across disciplines in order to coordinate activities. Must be able to manage all desk responsibilities to meet monthly deadlines.
Job Description:
- Collaborates with various Accounting, Land and Operations teams to gather necessary information, ensuring seamless coordination for effective management of JV Accounting processes and resolution of inquiries.
- Prepare monthly JV accounting journal entries and schedule as assigned.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly as assigned.
- Cultivates effective relationships, shares knowledge, and provides influence over projects and peer groups, demonstrating understanding of industry best practices.
- Cultivates familiarity with the control environment and diligently adheres to established control procedures to uphold financial integrity and compliance within the joint venture's accounting framework.
- Verifies financial transactions on the joint venture in accordance with COPAS standards, meticulously entering line items to ensure compliance and accurate financial representation, fostering transparency between collaborating entities.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or any other related discipline and/or commensurate work experience is required.
Experience:
- 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in areas such as JV Accounting, Financial Analysis & Reporting, Account Reconciliation or a related field. Industry experience is preferred.
