ABOUT YOUR ROLE:
Supports the Global Product Costing organization in developing, coaching and implementing operational strategies within VF and its Vendors with specific focus to Apparel & Footwear manufacturing. Provides manufacturing technical expertise to VF Product Supply teams to enhance product profitability through opportunities in product design & continuous evaluation & standardization of fact-based material, labor/OH & freight costing practices that optimize vendor manufacturing processes & product cost.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

Drive business impact
- Drives and executes vision and objectives of the Global Product Cost organization.
- Provides the Sourcing organization product cost information to help identify cost reduction opportunities, balancing considerations of product quality and performance.
- Provides the Sourcing organization manufacturing technical expertise with quantifiable product cost benefits. Recommends best practices on space, manpower, materials and equipment utilization in Vendor production facilities. Suggests changes in product construction & design during the development stage oriented to cost reduction.
- Manages best practices and continuous improvement initiatives in the creation, adoption, and benefits of fact based SMV’s & labor overhead through GSD and VF applications.
- Directs the analysis and re-engineering of Vendor production and transactional processes at specific sites that optimize cost, efficiency and quality as defined by the GPC Director.
- Maintains departmental pattern making expertise for the development of fit blocks used in costing exercises based on garments, pictures and sketch specifications
- Partners with Sourcing, GMS, Operations & SC Finance to understand changes in product design, raw materials, sourced manufacturing methods and services that impact product cost.
- Assists the GPC Director in budgeting, planning and organizing department activities and staff to achieve department goals.
- Management and administration of costing systems and databases. Supports as SME in the evaluation of new costing systems/processes and participates on systems implementation.
Leadership - Coaching & Training
- Coaching and development of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Manage conflict at many levels of the organization and able to effectively lead cross functional process improvement teams, and mentor /advise management on the formulation and implementation of process improvement plans.
- Teach and coach process owners / leaders on how to be accountable for sustainable results.
Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:
Competency requirements:
- Minimum relevant experience: 6 years.
- Minimum managerial experience: 2 years.
- Degree in industrial engineering / equivalent or min 6 years’ relevant experience.
- Comprehensive GSD knowledge with minimum of 2 years practical application. Certification a plus.
- Training and/or Certification with Six Sigma, SPC, 5-S, TMC, Project Management, Facilitation or other quality/process improvement processes a plus.
- English and Spanish: competent in verbal and written communication.
- Ability to travel frequently and for long periods of time regionally.
Skill Requirements:

- Must demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure and to keep composure in stressful situations
- Hands-on, in-depth knowledge of manufacturing, engineering and product development processes. Capable of leading and implementing practical applications on the field.
- Strong leadership skills demonstrated through championing accountability, maximizing team and individual strengths, seeking and implementing change in alignment of business objectives.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/initiatives with budget limits and time constraints.
- Able to work effectively with multiple levels of management and represented work groups
- Comprehensive knowledge of lean tools and concepts, e.g. VSM, 5S, standard work, continuous flow, line balance, automation. Strong analytic problem-solving skills (8D, PDCA or DMAIC etc.)
- Ability to work independently and with all levels of managers and associates

- Demonstrated ability to work successfully in complex and matrix business and projects area, leveraging interpersonal skills and technical skills to optimize results
