Localisation: Aimargues (30 minutes from Montpellier)
Type of contract: permanent contract
To execute day-to-day sample handling, measurement runs, and first-line data quality checks for Royal Canin’s Wet Food Transformation next-generation data-capture network. The role ensures reliable operation of on-site volatile and behavioral measurement equipment and consistent ingestion of clean, well-labelled datasets into Monarch.
What are we looking for?
Education & Professional Qualifications
- Technical diploma (or equivalent) in laboratory technology, chemistry, biotechnology, instrumentation, or a related field.
- Comfort working in controlled environments with strict SOPs and documentation requirements.
Knowledge / Experience
- Experience operating lab or industrial measurement equipment under SOPs (analytical instruments preferred).
- Demonstrated rigor with digital files, naming conventions, metadata entry, and data integrity practices.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance/calibration checks and troubleshoot common issues; escalates appropriately.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate effectively with operations and research stakeholders.
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Run protocols to support data capture
- Daily volatile fingerprinting execution: Prepare samples and run standardized GC-IMS / portable MS sequences on wet and dry products, raw materials, and pilot plant outputs at defined checkpoints aligned with trial schedules.
- Behavioral/sensory capture continuity: Monitor and maintain camera/IR/sensor setups during feeding and behavior protocols; ensure equipment uptime and correct data capture during scheduled windows.
- First-line equipment care: Perform routine cleaning, basic maintenance, calibration checks, and troubleshooting; escalate issues to the Method Engineer and vendors when needed.
- Data quality & integrity: Validate file completeness, basic signal sanity checks, and correct metadata mapping (batch IDs, processing parameters, trial identifiers) before ingestion into Monarch.
- Data ingestion operations: Follow defined upload processes, naming conventions, and storage locations; ensure timely transfer of datasets and flag missing/incorrect entries quickly.
- On-floor coordination: Coordinate daily with Pet Center caregivers, protocol owners, and pilot plant operators to integrate sampling and measurement steps without delaying operations or compromising welfare standards. Onboard and coordinate contractors when and if needed for the next gen data capture.
- Safety & compliance: Operate within safety procedures, chemical handling rules, and facility standards; maintain accurate logs and documentation for audits and traceability.
