Job Description:
CSI is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Settlement Accountant to join our growing team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring daily settlement activities are accurately reconciled across sponsor banking programs while supporting broader accounting and financial operations functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong reconciliation and investigative skills, enjoy solving complex financial discrepancies, and thrive in a collaborative environment where they work closely with banks, production support teams, engineering teams, and business stakeholders.

What You'll Do
Settlement & Financial Operations
Own daily settlement review and reconciliation processes across multiple banking partners.
Review settlement files and validate bank-reported activity against internal ledger transactions.
Perform detailed reconciliation and variance analysis to ensure accuracy of financial activity.
Review and validate NACHA files and settlement transactions.
Investigate payment discrepancies and identify root causes of settlement variances.
Escalate issues appropriately and collaborate with internal teams to resolve exceptions.
Coordinate manual money movements and settlement adjustments when operational corrections are required.
Serve as a key operational checkpoint prior to external file release and settlement processing.
Communicate settlement status, reconciliation results, and exception findings to stakeholders.
Accounting & Reconciliation
Prepare account reconciliations and supporting documentation.
Assist with monthly close activities, journal entries, and account analysis.
Support balance sheet reconciliation processes.
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
Ensure compliance with established accounting policies and procedures.
Participate in audits and provide supporting documentation as needed.
Collaboration & Process Improvement
Partner with internal teams including Accounting, Production Support, Engineering, Data, and Operations.
Work directly with banking partners and third-party vendors regarding settlement and reporting activities.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, automation, and operational efficiency.
Assist with backup coverage and cross-functional financial operations responsibilities.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3+ years of accounting, financial operations, reconciliation, treasury, banking, payments, or related experience.
Strong experience performing reconciliations and variance analysis.
Experience investigating financial discrepancies and resolving exceptions.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Banking, FinTech, payment processing, ACH, NACHA, card processing, or settlement experience.
Experience working directly with financial institutions or sponsor banks.
Exposure to financial operations, treasury management, or payment operations.
Experience with Power BI or financial reporting tools.
Familiarity with SQL, data analysis, or reporting platforms.
Experience using modern productivity and AI tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar technologies.
