OVERVIEW
The Color Check Coordinator is responsible for the color quality of all rubber flooring products prior to the finishing process. This position works closely with department managers and laboratory personnel to ensure products meet customer color requirements before they advance.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain the color quality of all rubber flooring products.
• Check color of tread samples from the Rubber Flooring Molding Department.
• Perform 100% color inspection of replacement orders, which frequently vary from standard.
• Stay current on standard changes, new products, and related developments issued by Tarkett.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Ambient temperatures range from 50–110°F, with the warmest conditions occurring when outside temperatures rise. The employee is exposed to high noise levels (continuous and intermittent) from the granulator (chipper), and to some dust and dirt.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Pushing tile buggies (100+ lbs).
• Flipping tiles four at a time (~20 lbs per flip), throughout the shift.
• Handles approximately 2,800–3,200 tiles per day.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Communication
• Review the end-of-shift checklist with the previous operator.
• Discuss any problems or special instructions with the previous operator.
Color Check
• Follow work instructions for machine setup and operation.
• Load tile onto buggies via forklift.
• Calibrate the spectrophotometer (Konica Minolta / X-Rite) and computer before color checking.
• Inspect 100% of replacement orders.
• Check durometer on one of every ten tiles.
• Check samples from the Molding Department.
• Verify the part number on the stock ticket matches the tile on the buggy.
• Prioritize color checking by order due date.
• Re-inspect returned product tied to customer complaints.
• Follow all applicable safety standards.
Quality System Responsibilities
• Execute color inspection in accordance with the applicable control plan, including specified characteristics, methods, sample sizes, and frequencies.
• Ensure measurement equipment is within calibration before use; do not use equipment that is overdue or out of tolerance.
• When a nonconforming condition is found, follow the established reaction plan: stop/hold the affected product, segregate and clearly identify it, and notify the responsible supervisor and/or laboratory personnel.
• Contain suspect product until disposition is determined; do not release product that has not been verified to standard.
• Record inspection results and any nonconformances as required, maintaining traceability to the order, part number, and lot/press where applicable.
Required Documentation
• Complete production tickets and press production sheets.
• Complete downtime sheet(s).
Work Area Maintenance
• Clean and sweep the work area.
• Empty all trash receptacles.
Other Duties
• Perform other duties as assigned.
