Java Development Lead _ Vice President _Software Engineering
We're seeking someone to join our Morgan Stanley's Fund Services Technology team as Java Development Lead in Institutional Securities Technology division. Role in MSGR Tech team is responsible for the design and development of Java-based applications.

Morgan Stanley's Fund Services (FS) Department, a wholly owned subsidiary (MSFS), provides comprehensive fund administration through a globally accessible technology platform
Within FS, the MSGR team manages trade-date reconciliation between Fund Books (MSPA), counterparty custodians, and client positions, supporting the Prime Brokerage and Fund Services business units.

What you'll do in the role:
- Lead design, development, and delivery of scalable reporting and analytics solutions for a greenfield project, including build-vs-buy analysis and POCs.
- Architect solutions using Java, Angular, and related technologies, adhering to SDLC best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and align solutions with business objectives.
- Drive adoption of GenAI and AI-assisted development practices across design, coding, review, and testing.
- Mentor engineering talent and foster a culture of technical excellence.
- Manage stakeholder communication and proactively address project risks.
- Promote agile methodologies, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
What you'll bring to the role:
- 10–14 years of software engineering experience, with strong expertise in Java (Spring Boot, REST APIs).
- Sound knowledge of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and SDLC practices.
- Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise-scale applications.
- Working knowledge of additional languages/frameworks (Python, SQL, etc.).
- Practical experience applying GenAI/AI tools in development, testing, or automation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven leadership of high-performing teams in a global environment.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks.
