Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for a Fire and Life Safety Technician* who under general supervision conducts fire drills, and ensure the maintenance, repair, testing and inspection of hospital fire and life safety systems are compliant with current fire and safety codes. Performs fire prevention/planning and develops and conducts fire and life safety training for hospital employees; performs related duties as required.

ARROWHEAD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER

Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Pre-Employment Process: Applicants selected for these positions must pass a background investigation and verification of employment history and education.

Availability: Night or weekend availability may be required.  

Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.

Applicants must meet one of the following options:

OPTION 1: Three (3) years of experience in fire prevention, fire inspection, fire protection systems, fire code enforcement, fire suppression systems, life safety compliance, or a related fire service or fire protection field. 
 
OR

OPTION 2: Three (3) years of experience in an acute care hospital or healthcare environment with responsibilities related to Environment of Care, Life Safety, Facilities Management, accreditation readiness, regulatory compliance, fire and life safety inspections, building systems, or healthcare operations.

Substitution:
An associate’s degree in Fire Science, Fire Protection Technology, Occupational Safety, Facilities Management, Engineering Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field can substitute for 1 year of experience.
