Job Description:
This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural patterns.
Responsibilities:
Cognos Administrator responsible for architecture, migration from Business Objects, and full platform support for this regulated SOX/UCAL reporting environment.
Manage the Cognos Analytics Enterprise shared environment across both legacy and containerized platforms.
Design and execute the container POC and go-live strategy to transition from the legacy platform to a modernized architecture.
Lead capacity planning, performance monitoring, complex issue diagnosis, major upgrades, and platform deployments.
Support a large, multi-tenant Cognos environment as part of a high-performing Enterprise Business Intelligence Technology team.
Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained
Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack
Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle
Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
Automates manual release activities
Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)
Required Qualifications:
Familiarity with Dynamic Cubes, Data Modules, Framework Manager, and Report Server configuration to assist Cognos BI tenants with troubleshooting reporting issues. This is not a development role.
Proven experience deploying Cognos Analytics on Red Hat OpenShift and Linux virtual machines. Windows-only experience will not be considered.
Experience customizing and versioning Cognos container images, along with knowledge of networking, TLS/SSL configuration, load balancing, and reverse proxies.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to ongoing architectural modernization efforts.
Experience managing vulnerabilities, ServiceNow/Remedy processes, audits, Cognos SDK, Trident surveys, and RISE deliverables for SOX/UCAL applications is preferred.
Desired Qualifications:
10+ years of experience as a Cognos BI Lead.
Familiarity with AIT management or technical leadership, including managing an AIT and supporting users in a multi-tenant Linux environment.
10+ years of Linux experience is preferred.
