Job Description

The Agriculture Business Banking Relationship Manager (AgRM) serves as the primary financial advisor and relationship manager for agricultural business clients, developing new business relationships, deepening existing client relationships, and delivering tailored financial solutions that help clients achieve their financial goals and long-term success. AgRMs take a holistic approach to relationship management, leveraging partnerships across the bank to provide customized lending, treasury management, payments, deposit, credit card, and wealth solutions that support both business and personal needs. They maintain overall ownership of the client relationship, coordinate specialized resources across U.S. Bank, and deliver a seamless, client-centered experience while growing and managing the agricultural business portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and grow a portfolio of agricultural business clients by identifying new business opportunities, strengthening existing relationships, and achieving portfolio growth and revenue objectives.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor by providing strategic financial guidance and customized solutions tailored to the unique needs of agricultural producers, agribusinesses, and related businesses.

  • Analyze client financial performance, including cash flow, profitability, credit quality, and risk exposure, and recommend appropriate banking, lending, treasury, payments, deposit, and wealth management solutions.

  • Partner with credit underwriting, portfolio management, treasury management, and other internal teams to structure solutions, manage risk, and ensure timely responses to client and portfolio needs.

  • Maintain ownership of the client relationship by coordinating resources across the bank, facilitating referrals, and connecting clients with specialists when appropriate.

  • Demonstrate expertise in agricultural lending, credit analysis, banking products, industry trends, and risk management practices affecting the agriculture sector.

  • Build and maintain relationships with centers of influence, community organizations, and agricultural industry groups to expand business opportunities and strengthen U.S. Bank's presence in local markets.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and risk management standards.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Seven or more years of experience in relationship banking, business banking, commercial banking, agricultural lending, or a related financial services field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong relationship management, business development, and consultative sales experience

  • Experience with commercial credit underwriting, financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, and portfolio management

  • Formal commercial credit training preferred

  • Knowledge of agricultural production, livestock operations, agribusiness, agricultural economics, and industry trends

  • Understanding of agricultural risk management practices and government programs impacting the agriculture industry

  • Ability to manage complex client relationships involving multiple products, services, and revenue opportunities

  • Knowledge of business banking solutions, including commercial lending, treasury management, payments, deposits, and wealth management services

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across business lines and serve as a trusted advisor to clients

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $114,750.00 - 140,250.00
