Bachelor's degree required
Master's degree preferred
Experience and Training
Must be BOC Certified, NC Licensed athletic trainer or eligible, CPR/AED Certified
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
Knowledge of athletic injuries, treatment methods, rehabilitation, record keeping, taping, and bracing methods
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Analytical, problem solving and reasoning ability; independent judgment
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Efficient organizational and time management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ability to utilize Presagia injury tracking software
Ability to travel as required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides medical care and athletic training services to High Point University student athletes.
Evaluates injuries, develop and implement treatment and rehab programs, refer when appropriate and make return-to-play decisions.
Serves as a preceptor in ATEP.
Maintains positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively with students, parents, faculty, co-workers, coaches and physicians.
Other duties as assigned
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Ensures appropriate medical care for student athletes for assigned sports
Provides supervision for athletic training students within CAATE-approved athletic training education program
