## The group you’ll be a part of
WETS Deposition group at Lam India Global Hardware Technology (LIGHT) is hiring a Electrical program Lead Engineer for its product development engineering and product ownership team. This role plays a critical part in defining next‑generation electrical and controls platforms for wafer fabrication equipment.
## Job Summary
As an Electrical program lead engineer, you will serve as the system‑level technical authority for electrical and controls architecture of wafer fabrication equipment. This role owns end‑to‑end electrical, controls, and system engineering responsibility for assigned tool sub‑modules and platforms, defining architecture, interfaces, Theory of Operation, and integration strategy from concept through high‑volume manufacturing and field support.
## Job Responsibilities
- Conducts design reviews and ready to own a submodule
- Proficient in concept design and development of high complex electrical/electronic circuits
- Own & drive NPD programs/high complex CIP/multiple sub-system projects with reliability, cost and/or productivity requirements with appropriate test data.
- Assesses alternative solutions (circuit, concept, methods etc.) to meet functional and performance requirements
- Makes design decisions on major subsystems with knowledge of systems principles & approach
- Manages CFT participation in CIP projects, leads guided brainstorming sessions
- Owns quality issues from the subsystems designed
- Define cut-in strategy for multiple sub-system changes in collaboration with NPI engineers
- Leads guided brainstorming sessions & Structured investigation
- Ability to own / develop LIGHT group's design BKMs and standards
- Understanding the customer requirements leads the concept development, prepares detailed schematic design, builds the product, and leads the validation
- Establish clear electrical–controls–firmware–software interface boundaries and architectural assumptions.
## Minimum Qualifications
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- Experience: Bachelor’s in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 8-12 years or master’s in electrical/electronic engineering with 5-8 years
## Core Competencies
- Executes and owns Electrical Engineering technical assignments, projects with primary focus on designing, developing, modifying Power distribution and Control Panels.
- Proficiency in assessing loading, performing SCCR calculations, thermal calculations, wire sizing, busbar designs, switchgear selection, etc. for power boxes and panels
- Define system level bring up and verification strategy including power up/down sequences, interlock validation, controls & safety behavior verification
- Proficient in Electrical/Electronic Circuit concept design & development with safety interlocks & various circuit analyses. (Circuit analyses include De-rating & Stress analysis, Power analysis & Logic compatibility analysis etc.)
- Expert level knowledge of Engineering change management, Obsolescence management & problem-solving skills
- Owns digital I/O, analog I/O mapping, Drives, RS485, EtherCAT. Ensure noise immunity, grounding, shielding & EMC robustness.
- Proficiency in solenoid driver circuits, surge suppressions, drive protections, also Experience in motion controls, drives, encoders, safety interlocks, tuning procedures and debugging
## Desirable Competencies
- Proficiency in working with PLC programming Beckhoff or similar and SCADA
- Proficiency in PCBA design skills with CID+ certification
- Familiar with standards like – S22, S2, S8, UL 508, IEC 60947, NFPA79
- Experience in setting up equipment for experimentation / testing in laboratory environment, setting up safe practices.
- Basic understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic control systems is added advantage
- Expert level in defining and design instrumentation architecture – Temperature, pressure, flow, proximity, position and safety sensors.
- Experience in Semiconductor Wafer Fab Equipment (WFE) domain.
