Are you ready to lead growth-focused business across EMEA, driving innovation and customer value in a dynamic landscape of sales and services? We are looking for our new Director, Improvement Projects and Roll Services.
In this role, you will have full leadership and business responsibility for the Improvement Projects and Roll Services business across EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa). This includes overseeing improvement projects, new roll sales, roll services, and mill maintenance operations. Your mission is to drive profitable growth and elevate customer satisfaction by empowering our regional teams, shaping and executing effective sales and operational strategies, and identifying new business opportunities to expand our footprint.
Your responsibilities will include:
Drive profitable growth and ensure customer-centric delivery across EMEA in the respective business:
Improvement Projects and New Roll.
Roll Services.
Maintenance outsourcing.
Lead strategic planning and development initiatives.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities and synergies.
Strengthen agreement based business and operational practices.
Develop team capabilities and lead multicultural teams in a matrix organization.
Leading selected sales cases and delivery execution.
Lead or participate in selected initiatives related to the Improvement Projects and Roll Services business.
Promote continuous development of team capabilities and assign responsibilities.
Coordinate the Improvement Projects and Roll Services business strategy and annual planning process.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
8+ years of international experience in areas such as sales leadership, service projects, mill maintenance, and agreement-based business—ideally with exposure to cross-functional, customer-facing roles.
Strong understanding of customer interfaces and market across EMEA.
Proven strategic thinking and execution capabilities, supported by strong business acumen.
People-oriented leadership style with a strong commitment to enabling others’ success, fostering collaboration, and developing team capabilities.
Excellent collaboration and networking skills within a global matrix organization.
Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex, multi-dimensional challenges.
Willingness to travel approximately 40% of your working time across the EMEA region.
Familiarity with Valmet’s internal processes, tools, and systems is considered an advantage.
M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in a relevant field
