Job Details:
The senior developer is expected to participate in various activities throughout the systems development lifecycle. The primary role of the senior developer will be to contribute by developing high-quality technology solutions that meet the customer’s needs by the specified delivery date. As well, this position will be required to participate in resolving support-related concerns while enhancing productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
Further responsibilities will include developing and maintaining a professional and technical knowledge of the area assigned, including a consistent focus on emerging and predominant technologies that enable the assigned area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Project and Enhancement Delivery
Execute small-scale projects and enhancement requests from intake through deployment, using Agile and Waterfall project methodology as appropriate to the size of the effort.
Work directly with analysts and functional end users to define and clarify requirements for enhancements, break/fix items, and smaller development efforts.
Guide junior developers on the team through application and enhancement design decisions, reviewing proposed approaches and providing constructive feedback.
Solutions Development
Perform software application development within a variety of languages and platforms, including technologies such as .NET (C#), ASP.NET Core, .NET Web API, Entity Framework, JavaScript (ES6/ES7), Vue.js, HTML, CSS, and MS SQL Server.
Maintain awareness of development best practices, including processes and technology, as well as identifying opportunities for improvement of existing functionality.
Develop, use existing, or research new tools that improve the delivery of solutions to customers.
Develop technical specifications for enhancements and small-scale development in custom applications as well as extensions for packaged software, while following established standards and design patterns.
Application Quality Assurance
Plan and run unit, integration, and performance tests throughout the development cycle to verify changes work as intended before release.
Build and maintain test cases for assigned applications, including automated and regression tests that cover core business scenarios, and update them as functionality changes.
Perform code-level reviews with junior developers to confirm coding standards are met and that implementations are efficient, readable, and maintainable.
Support
Provide day-to-day support of production systems that support key customer business processes, including monitoring, incident triage, root cause analysis, and resolution.
Collaborate routinely with functional end users and IT peers to troubleshoot and support applications, system integrations, and capabilities, including recurring break/fix and configuration requests.
Document and maintain support procedures and information as needed to maintain a positive support level.
Focus on delivering support efforts within established service level agreements to ensure department key performance indicators are met.
Monitor the support queue daily, prioritizing incoming incidents and requests against ongoing development commitments, and participate in on-call rotation as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or other technical areas; equivalent work experience may be acceptable.
Experience: 4 plus years of professional .NET application development and relational database experience, including building and supporting web applications in a team environment; experience with source control, code reviews, and a structured release process is expected.

Computer Skills
Visual Studio, VS Code, .NET programming (C#), ASP.NET Core, ES6/ES7 JavaScript, Vue.js, Vuetify, .NET Web API, Entity Framework, Windows Form applications, report design, relational database design (MS SQL Server), Power App, Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines; advanced knowledge of web development technologies.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Biosecurity: When visiting jobsites with biosecurity environments, showering before entering the facilities is required. Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsites except for medical ID jewelry. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, and birds). The company Animal Welfare Policy must always be followed.
Physical Requirements: Must use safe lifting techniques. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk, or hear. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Personal Protective Equipment Required: When visiting facilities, the team member is expected to follow the required safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment.
Supervisory: None.
Travel: Minimal domestic trips.
This role is expected to be on-site Monday - Friday. Remote work is not available.
