Project Engineer - Civil Engineering (Land Development, PE Licensed)
Location: Newport Beach, CA (hybrid - up to 2 days in office; remote flexibility possible for the right candidate)
License Requirement: California Professional Engineer (PE) - Civil Engineering Degree Required
About the Role
Our client is seeking a PE-Licensed Project Engineer specializing in land development to join their growing Civil Engineering team in Newport Beach, CA. This role will focus on the design, engineering, and management of land development projects, including commercial, mixed-use, and infrastructure developments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in site planning, grading, stormwater management, permitting, and civil design while working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of land development projects, from concept design to final construction documents.
- Develop grading, drainage, and stormwater management plans in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Oversee site planning, permitting, and entitlement processes.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and government agencies to ensure seamless project execution.
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to prepare designs and documentation.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time and within budget while meeting regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- California Professional Engineer (PE) license - REQUIRED
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on land development
- Strong expertise in site design, grading, drainage, and stormwater management
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant engineering software
- In-depth knowledge of zoning laws, permitting processes, and local regulations
- Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills
