About This Opportunity

Join UQ as a Student and Academic Administration Officer and help deliver a positive experience for students throughout their university journey.

As a Student and Academic Administration Officer at UQ, you'll be at the heart of delivering services that support student success and academic excellence. Working within a truly collaborative team, you'll provide expert administrative support, solve complex problems, engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, and contribute to processes that help students thrive throughout their university journey.

Within the Faculty of Science’s School of Mathematics and Physics, you’ll support a broad range of student and academic administration activities, from enrolment and progression through to examinations and grades. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver exceptional service and expert advice to students, staff and external stakeholders through a range of communication channels, helping to create a positive and seamless university experience.

  • Maintain accurate, secure and confidential student records, ensuring the integrity of information across key academic and administrative processes.
  • Process student administration matters relating to admission, progression, examinations, class sign-on, course enrolment, grades and other stages of the student journey.
  • Support academic administration activities, including course profile and Blackboard updates, timetabling, examination paper preparation, and grade uploads and amendments.

Join a vibrant professional community dedicated to supporting student success. As your experience grows, you'll have opportunities to expand your knowledge across a variety of specialist student administration functions, broadening your skills, developing your career, and discovering new opportunities within one of Australia's leading universities.

About You

  • A relevant undergraduate qualification, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training that demonstrates your capability in a similar environment.
  • The ability to confidently manage competing priorities, maintain accuracy and deliver results in a fast-paced administrative environment.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear advice and build positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • A genuine commitment to delivering exceptional customer service, complemented by sound judgement, attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Confidence in learning and navigating complex systems, databases and digital tools, with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • An understanding of student and academic administration processes, or the ability to quickly develop this knowledge and apply relevant policies and procedures.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, including across teams and organisational areas, to support a positive experience for students from diverse backgrounds.
  • High level organisational skills and attention to detail.

We welcome diverse experience and encourage you to highlight any relevant experience in tertiary education or a large, complex organisation, or with systems such as SI-net, Business Objects or CRM systems.
