What a typical day looks like:

  • Test & verify the performance/function of power distribution equipment and assemblies, using multi-meters, current meters, HI‐POT Testers, Phase Rotation Meters, and other testing equipment.

  • Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly, ensuring conformance to product specifications.

  • Read inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, and certification processes to ensure proper test procedures are followed.

  • Obtain and accurately record data obtained during testing using a computer and several types of programs not limited to Modbus Poll, Adobe Acrobat, Word, Excel, various web interfaces, and other specialized programs.

  • Complete inspection of all electrical equipment coming into the Test areas.

  • Completion of technical reports and Factory Acceptance Tests.

  • Verify and install revolving cable layouts for different jobs.

  • Make necessary repairs and/or refer test issues to Supervisor for further diagnosis.

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure company product specifications are being followed or to assist with other manufacturing needs.

  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Test Department Supervisor.

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment within all Test areas.

  • All other duties as assigned.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Equivalent military training or experience in electronics, electrical systems, engineering, or related technical disciplines.

  • Prior experience with low-voltage switchgear, power distribution units (PDUs), remote power panels (RPPs), static switches, and powered busway systems preferred; data center or other mission-critical environment experience strongly preferred.

  • Working knowledge of applicable safety standards and electrical codes, including NFPA 70E, NEC, UL, and IEC.

  • Solid understanding of three-phase power, DC power systems, electrical power generation, and AC/DC power distribution.

  • Ability to recognize hazardous conditions and apply safe work practices before performing testing or troubleshooting activities.

  • Demonstrated troubleshooting capability at the circuit board and component level.

  • Proficiency in the use of a wide range of hand tools and electrical test equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.

  • Competence using computers and software applications for data entry, testing documentation, and reporting.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a professional, cooperative, and organized working relationship within a team environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to follow detailed instructions and apply mathematical formulas and concepts accurately.
