Job Description

Visa’s Internship Program provides an immersive, 12-week journey where you’ll work on impactful projects that drive Visa’s mission forward. As a Visa intern, you’ll build valuable connections across the organization, sharpen your communication and business acumen, and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, global environment. 

Throughout the program, you’ll have exclusive access to interactive workshops and learning sessions designed to deepen your expertise, expand your industry knowledge, and elevate your professional skillset. You won’t just be learning, you’ll be contributing, collaborating, and innovating every step of the way. Visa’s Data & AI Team, led by the Chief Data Officer, plays a key role in advancing this work across the enterprise.  The team owns strategic initiatives related to data business strategy, product development, investment priorities, governance, policy, and marketplace execution.  In close partnership with the Chief Privacy Officer, Technology teams, business units, regional teams, and the broader Visa data community, the Data & AI Team drives high-impact efforts shaping how Visa uses data to drive innovation and deliver trusted solutions at scale. 

The Data & AI Product Management teams are seeking interns to support product ownership and requirements development for Visa’s data products and data platforms.  As an intern, you will work with cross-functional partners across product leadership, technology, product operations, data & analytics, privacy, governance, and regional and global solutions teams.  you will help support the development of high-quality data products and platforms serving a range of internal and external customers.

This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data product management, contribute to meaningful product and platform initiatives, and help shape capabilities that support innovation across Visa’s global business.

All Visa roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.

Potential high impact projects and responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and design teams to define and refine product requirements, including coordination of workshops with technology teams to evolve product requirements, feasibility, and project planning.

• Conduct user research and stakeholder interviews to understand pain points, user personas, and user journey mapping.

• Development of product prototypes, demos, and wireframes to showcase the art of the possible.

• Analyze usage data and feedback to inform feature prioritization and roadmap planning.

• Project management of important platform modernization from on-premise datasets to Visa’s hybrid cloud, ensuring they match the enterprise data model and are ready for business and analytics use.

• Assist in improving data quality and discoverability by adding data checks and ensuring metadata and data lineage are correctly recorded.

• Support the creation of governance and usage processes that track dataset access, ensure security, and promote efficient data use across the company.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Product Design, Business Administration, Economics, or related field, graduating December 2027 – August 2028

•  Strong communications skills, specifically, the absence of repeated grammatical or typographical errors, clear and concise written and spoken communications that demonstrate professional judgment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Curious mindset with an interest in solving problems alongside strong analytical and quantitative skills, driving insight from data analysis. 

• Proactive attitude with experience of being a self-starter, a willingness to learn and to think creatively and identify new ways to innovate.  

• Basic understanding of data management concepts such as data quality, metadata, and data lineage.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) or interest in learning cloud-based data tools.

• Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work across technical and business teams.

• Strong interest in product management, data platforms, and conversational AI.

• Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, MicroStrategy)

• Familiarity with UX design tools (e.g. Invision, Figma, Balsamiq).

• Familiarity with project management tools such as MS project.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and product teams.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated hourly range for a new hire into this position is $46 to $55 which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
