This strategic leadership role acts as the Product Line hub for PMO, Risk Management, and Contract Management, providing robust oversight, governance, and dotted-line leadership to a community of Project Managers.

The role is accountable for end-to-end execution excellence, driving key financial and operational KPIs (Sales, Margin, Delivery, Customer satisfaction & others), steering high-risk projects and complex negotiations, driving process and tool transformation, and fostering talent development within a matrix organization. Acting as a key bridge between factories and customers, this role ensures tight alignment between industrial planning (S&OP) and on-the-ground project execution.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

PMO & Portfolio Governance

  • Establish, lead, and continuously improve the PMO framework for the PT Switchgears product line, ensuring alignment with central and regional business objectives and the Business Line PMO team.
  • Oversee execution governance, standardized processes, and consistent customer engagement across multiple factories, sites, and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Ensure close operational interfacing between the Project Management team and manufacturing operations, ensuring that project milestones accurately reflect real production and assembly capabilities.
  • Monitor portfolio health, milestones, and performance indicators, providing clear visibility to executive leadership.
  • Drive project management transformation initiatives, ensuring the successful deployment of PM tools, templates, and methodologies.

Financials & Operational Working Capital

  • Accountable for portfolio-level financial and operational targets, including Sales, Cost, Margin, and Margin Deviations.
  • Optimize operational working capital by driving the reduction of Work-in-Progress (WIP), managing project-related inventory, and accelerating Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) sign-offs to trigger timely billing.
  • Drive strict cash performance by overseeing billing (internal/external), collection, past dues, retentions, and bond/guarantee management from project kick-off to close-out.
  • Ensure financial, commercial, and operational decisions adhere strictly to the Delegation of Authority (DOA).
  • Take direct charge of major or strategic projects when necessary to secure delivery times and gross margins.

Risk & Opportunity Management

  • Ensure regular, structured assessment of Risks & Opportunities (R&O) across the portfolio.
  • Drive the definition, implementation, and follow-up of robust mitigation and action plans to counter potential overruns, liquidated damages (LDs), and execution issues.
  • Lead and/or oversee High and Medium Risk Project Reviews, including transfer meetings (ITO to OTR) and structured Lessons Learned / Return on Experience sessions.

Contract Management & Complex Negotiations

  • Enforce rigorous Contract Management processes toward customers, partners, and suppliers in coordination with Legal and Central teams.
  • Support and mentor Project Managers in preparing and negotiating major Variation Orders (VOs), claims (ACT Management), and complex commercial disputes.
  • Intervene directly in critical crisis situations, leading customer-facing recovery actions and high-stakes negotiations.

Operational Execution & Supply Chain Interface

  • Load & Capacity Planning: Work closely with plant managers and operations planning to anticipate bottlenecks, secure critical material and electrical component supplies, and smooth out manufacturing load.
  • Industrial Milestone Management: Validate critical manufacturing milestones—from Technical Design Reviews to Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)—by coordinating engineering, quality, and production teams.
  • Non-Conformance & Quality Resolution: Coordinate rapid corrective actions for factory-floor or on-site quality issues, minimizing impact on project delivery schedules and gross margins.

PM Community & People Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop the regional/product line PM team and Contract Administrators, setting clear performance standards aligned with the GE Performance Management cycle.
  • Provide dotted-line coaching and functional guidance to factory and regional PMs, strengthening overall competencies and ensuring the right allocation of PMs based on project complexity.
  • EHS Leadership: Demonstrate visible EHS leadership, drive the Zero Deviation Plan, promote hazard identification, and ensure a safe working environment for all teams—both in offices and across factory/site operations.
  • For roles outside of the USA- This role requires significant experience in the Project Management & Operations Leadership. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
