Description
Schedule:
- 16.5hours/week subject to change
- Assist with conducting group exercises for residents, and/or lead one-on-one exercises with the assigned resident as directed by the Physiotherapist.
- Encourage residents to reach the goals of their planned treatment programs if appropriate.
- Document treatments and residents' progress after each therapy session per the Physiotherapist’s instructions.
- Assist residents with walking, sitting, and safe transferring.
- Monitor any changes to a resident’s health status and report to the Physiotherapist or supervisor.
- Perform treatments such as applying an ice pack or hot pack, ultrasound therapy, TENS (electrotherapy), hot wax, etc.
- Must be a Physiotherapy Assistant graduate or equivalent.
- Excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to communicate well with the elderly, supervisors, and teammates.
- Experience working in a Long Term Care or Retirement home would be a definite asset.
- Current police check for the Vulnerable Sector is required.
- Valid 2 STEP TB Test and/or Chest X-Ray is required
- Access to a reliable vehicle with Valid Drivers License is required (This position is NOT ACCESIBLE BY BUS)
- We will NOT consider RELOCATION - Must be a resident of Kingsville and/or Windsor Area.
