Overview
As an Ambulance & Events Volunteer with the Muriwai First Response Unit, you'll respond to time-critical emergency incidents when a full-time ambulance isn't immediately available. You'll be notified via automated messaging system and can choose whether to respond with no fixed roster or obligation. Your duties include meeting at the station, taking the FRU to scenes, and providing critical patient care until further assistance arrives. Hato Hone St John provides comprehensive training including advanced first aid, driving training, and clinical education leading to a Level 3 New Zealand Certificate in Emergency Care. Volunteers must live within 5-10km of Muriwai, be available for on-call duties, and commit to regular training.
