The successful candidate will set up and operate CNC grinding machines to manufacture high-precision carbide cutting tools to exact technical drawings and quality standards. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong technical knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Key responsibilitiesSet up and operate CNC grinding machines in line with production priorities.Interpret technical drawings, tool layouts, and specifications to produce accurate tool geometry. Carry out in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards. Adjust machine parameters and tooling to maintain consistency and reduce scrap. Support machine maintenance, housekeeping, and safe working practices. Record production data, issues, and improvement actions accurately. Assist with new product introductions, trials, and prototypes. Support and train less experienced team members where required. Candidate profileExperience with CNC grinding, ideally including Rollomatic and/or ANCA machines. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, tool blueprints, and geometric tolerances. Knowledge of CNC programming and grinding software such as ToolRoom or VGPro. Confident using precision inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, and optical measuring systems. Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, quality-focused approach. Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with high standards for accuracy and reliability.
