POSITION SUMMARY
As a Mountain Snow Sports (MSS) School Supervisor, you will play a key leadership role supporting instructors and ensuring daily operations run smoothly and efficiently. Working closely with management and peers, you will lead by example, coach instructors, manage logistics, and help deliver outstanding guest experiences. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills as well as a passion for snow sports and instruction. The pay range for this role is $24.00 - $28.00 per hour.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Lesson assignments, including generation of daily reports
- Assist and facilitate the check in process at assigned department’s daily line up
- Staff scheduling within our scheduling systems
- Be present, available, and engaged with instructors and guests, on hill and in a supportive leadership capacity
- Coach and mentor fellow staff members
- Oversee lessons to ensure quality
- Support management with payroll and labor management duties
- Ensure essential information is communicated in a timely and accurate manner to both upper managers, peers, and instructor staff members.
- Work with management team to find a resolutions in a timely manner.
- Managing indoor and outdoor program set up and upkeep during the day
- Teaching lessons when needed
- Build relationship with instructors and families within the program
- The supervisors working within our seasonal programs will be required to send weekly Newsletter communications to the staff and guests within that program
- Conduct thorough end-of-season analysis of individual and departmental strengths and opportunities in evaluations and planning
- This position may require work duties assisting other departments as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- High School Diploma, or equivalent
Experience:
- PSIA/AASI certifications or equivalent
- Ski/Snowboarding Instructor for 1 season full-time or 2-3 seasons part-time
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience using resort POS systems a plus
- Willingness & ability to learn new computer systems
- Ability to problem solve with management team and independently
- Previous experience working in guest service
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter- quick thinker
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
This position will be required to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
