Description
The Team Lead provides leadership across the full lifecycle of IT and Product initiatives, managing their own projects from robust planning through effective execution. They ensure all work is delivered on schedule, at high quality, and in alignment with established business and technical objectives. In close partnership with Product Management and IT, the Team Lead acts as a key cross‑functional leader, aligning stakeholders, driving decisions, and coordinating the activities required to bring offerings successfully to market.
In addition to project ownership, the Team Lead is responsible for developing, coaching, and growing a high‑performing team. They set clear expectations, foster collaboration, and create an environment where team members can thrive and deliver exceptional results.
Success in this role is measured by the consistent delivery of high‑quality, objective‑aligned outcomes and the strength and growth of the team. It requires disciplined, proactive communication, structured planning, and strong problem‑solving capabilities. The ideal candidate brings analytical depth to anticipate challenges and recommend effective solutions, paired with a resilient, “can‑do” mindset suited to fast‑paced, evolving environments with distributed teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads the creation, optimisation, and execution of structured project schedules and milestone plans within Product, IT environments and cross functional initiatives.
- Delivers high quality outcomes on time, adjusting plans proactively as data, priorities, or conditions evolve.
- Owns issue management, tracking open items and guiding teams toward timely resolution.
- Holds team members accountable for commitments, milestones, deliverables, and quality standards, while providing coaching and support where needed.
- Identifies, documents, and manages key risks, proposing mitigation and contingency plans and communicating impacts promptly to stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Maps and manages dependencies, ensuring they are clearly understood, tracked, and reported throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communicates with clarity and intent, tailoring discussions to the audience and providing the right context and visibility for executives, partners, and team members.
- Ensures documentation is complete, accessible, and actionable, driving shared understanding and alignment across all projects teams.
- Defines clear success criteria, objectives, and requirements, ensuring the team understands expectations and can execute effectively.
- Facilitates effective team meetings, surfacing issues, driving decisions, and ensuring follow through on actions and commitments.
- Builds strong cross functional relationships, enabling collaboration across Product, Engineering, IT, and business teams.
- Champions team ownership and accountability, modelling leadership behaviours that drive quality, momentum, and shared success.
- Promotes continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to refine processes, tools, and team practices to enhance delivery efficiency and quality.
REQUIREMENTS:

- Strong planning acumen, able to prioritize effectively and operate as a proactive self‑starter focused on delivery outcomes.
- Exceptional communication skills, anticipating information needs, ensuring teams are well‑informed, and presenting confidently to executives and cross‑functional leaders.
- Analytical and strategic thinker, able to synthesize insights from disparate information and translate them into clear actions, decisions, and mitigation plans.
- Sound decision‑making ability, even in ambiguous situations; considers upstream/downstream impacts and balances long‑term and short‑term objectives.
- Highly organized and detail‑oriented, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and drive clarity in complex environments.
- Strong leadership presence, capable of motivating teams, resolving conflict, and fostering a culture of accountability, trust, and continuous improvement.
- Resilient and adaptable, comfortable working in fast‑paced, evolving environments with distributed teams.
- Ability to coach and develop talent, helping team members grow their skills, confidence, and impact.
Experience:
- 3–5 years’ experience leading a high‑performing team, with proven success in developing people and driving results.
- 3+ years’ experience working in a software development or technology‑driven environment.
- 8+ years’ experience with project/program management principles, tools, and methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and how cross‑functional teams collaborate to deliver products.
- Experience working with Product, Engineering, and IT teams is highly beneficial.
Educational Requirements:
- BA/BS in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related area, or equivalent program/project management experience PMP or PRINCE2 certification is highly desired.
