PCCSU Electrical Lead

 

Job Type: Contract

Duration: 1 year (possibility to extension until 2028)
Location: Dubai (with potential relocation to Gabon during Start-Up and Handover phases)

 

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced PCCSU Electrical Lead to play a key leadership role in delivering PreCommissioning, Commissioning, and StartUp (PCCSU) activities for a major FLNG & FSU project.

This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute across the full project lifecycle; from early preparation through on-site execution; supporting the successful commissioning and start-up of a world-class LNG facility.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Plan, organize, and lead the execution of Electrical LV/HV distribution such as: LV/HV Switchgears, MCCs, UPS Systems, Battery Systems, etc.
  • precommissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities in line with project requirements, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Prepare and manage SLDs (Single Line Diagrams) mark-ups for systemization.
  • Review, comment, and approval of PCCSU Electrical deliverables.
  • Attendance in the Mechanical Completion (MC) walkthroughs and punch listing.
  • Promote and enforce a strong culture of safety and quality across all PCCSU activities.
  • Identify project risks and proactively communicate technical issues or safety concerns to project leadership.
  • Commissioning and Energization of all electrical systems on: FLNG, FSU, and Jetty (Quay)
  • Supervise contractors and specialized service providers
  • Develop and implement detailed commissioning scopes, procedures, and execution plans.
  • Review and support Vendor FAT/IFAT and SAT activities, including attendance when required.
  • Prepare commissioning documentation such as CTPs, method statements, manuals, and technical instructions.
  • Implement LOTOs, perform black start testing, Load shedding tests, carry-out the Synchronization tests, and handle the Dynamic commissioning support
  • PCCSU activities of Power Distribution Control System (PDCS)
  • Support the development of precommissioning and commissioning schedules (Level 3 & Level 4) in coordination with planning teams and vendors.
  • Ensure availability of all temporary equipment, tools, consumables, and spare parts required for PCCSU activities.
  • Coordinate closely with multidiscipline teams (Process, ICSS, telecom, utilities, vendors, construction, and engineering) to integrate commissioning requirements into design and execution.
  • Lead the transition from Area-Based Completion (ABC) to System-Based Completion (SBC) in collaboration with Completion & Handover teams.
  • Witness precommissioning activities performed by construction contractors to ensure readiness for mechanical completion and handover.
  • Manage all electrical-related interfaces throughout precommissioning, commissioning, and start-up phases.
  • Ensure accurate red-line mark-ups and ascommissioned documentation are completed and handed over.
  • Monitor progress against plan and implement corrective actions to safeguard key contractual milestones, including RFSU (Ready for Start-Up).
  • Provide technical support during commissioning and start-up, particularly for large rotating equipment and FLNG/FSU systems electrical wise.
  • Support operations and maintenance training programs and assist in the final handover of the facility to the client.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent), with strong leadership and coordination skills.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical precommissioning and commissioning, with significant exposure to large rotating equipment.
  • Proven experience with GTGs, EDGs (Diesel Generators), compressors/ Refrigeration Compressor Motors/ Boil-Off Gas Compressors, (loading)pumps/ Cryogenic Pumps, and similar machinery.
  • Prior experience in LNG, gas processing, refinery, or major EPC projects is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of system completion, commissioning sequencing, and start-up methodologies.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in relevant tools and systems, including MS Office, PDF tools, 3D modeling platforms, and Completion Management Systems (e.g., PIMS).
  • Highly organized, practical professional with strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Solid site experience with a strong awareness of HSE requirements, SIMOPS constraints, and field execution challenges.
  • Readiness and flexibility to work across Home Office and Site locations throughout the project lifecycle.
