Focused on long-term client retention and portfolio expansion, our client provides a supportive remote environment where proactive relationship management directly drives account renewals and net recurring revenue.
The Role
Our Client is seeking a proactive, customer-focused Account Manager to manage relationships with higher education accounts across the United States. Reporting to internal growth leads, this professional will act as the primary point of contact for assigned university accounts—guiding clients through platform adoption, resolving operational challenges, managing renewals, and identifying upselling opportunities. Balancing customer advocacy with business growth goals, the Account Manager will ensure high satisfaction rates and continuous account expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management, Retention & Relationship Building

Serves as the primary point of contact for assigned university and higher education accounts across the United States.

Builds trusted, long-term relationships with higher education administrators, faculty leads, and department heads.

Drives account renewals and retention strategies, ensuring high customer satisfaction and continuous value realization.

Coordinates cross-functionally with internal support, product, and technical teams to resolve customer issues effectively.
Portfolio Expansion & Revenue Growth

Identifies, pursues, and closes upselling and account expansion opportunities across managed higher education accounts.

Monitors account health indicators, platform usage activity, and outstanding requests to proactively identify expansion potential or churn risks.

Maintains complete, up-to-date account activity, opportunity pipelines, and client notes inside the company CRM.
Customer Advocacy & Operational Execution

Advocates for customer needs internally while balancing business objectives, knowing when to push initiatives forward or adjust strategy.

Manages multiple customer requests, projects, and communication channels simultaneously across various US time zones.

Customer-Facing Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in Account Management, Customer Success, Client Services, Customer Support, or B2B Sales.

Fluent English Communication: Excellent written and spoken English proficiency to communicate clearly and professionally with US university administrators.

Problem-Solving & Organization: Exceptional organizational skills with a proven capability to manage multiple customer projects, requests, and deadlines concurrently.

CRM & Tech-Savviness: Comfort working with CRM software, modern communication tools, and a quick aptitude for mastering new SaaS platforms.

Proactive Ownership Mindset: Self-motivated and adaptable, with a strong customer-first attitude and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Schedule Alignment: Availability to provide consistent operational overlap with US customer business hours across Eastern, Central, Mountain, and Pacific time zones.

Remote Workspace Infrastructure: Quiet home office, updated computer setup, HD webcam, headset, and a high-speed primary internet connection.

Prior experience working with US higher education institutions, universities, or EdTech SaaS platforms.

Background studying at or attending a US university (including exchange or study-abroad programs).

General familiarity with digital marketing principles or online marketing campaigns.

Experience managing clients across multiple US time zones.

Competitive Compensation: Base salary of $1,700 – $2,200 USD/month plus performance-based commission/bonus tied to account renewals and growth.
