General Summary: The Electrical Technician “A” plays a key role in the assembly and wiring of electrical control panels, ensuring the creation of functional and compliant systems. This position involves interpreting technical drawings, assembling components, and wiring panels according to engineering specifications. The Electrical Technician “A” must adhere to safety standards and possess a strong understanding of electrical principles to contribute to the successful completion of electrical projects.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Assist Management, QualityControl, and Engineering in developing standards and work instructions for building electrical systems and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Assemble and wire electrical components, boards, and enclosures
- Route and connect pneumatic tubing to pneumatic devices
- Assemble and wire gas burner junction boxes and wire to burner trains
- Assemble and wire small ovens
- Accurately drill and tap holes to mount electrical components
- Perform calibration of electrical and pneumatic components
- Test all electrical systems and gas burner systems
- Must be able to do the above tasks meeting all safety, productivity, and quality standards
- Ability to offer guidance and training to lower level personnel
- Follow all company guidelines, (Lockout-tagout, PPE, Bloodborne Pathogens, HAZMAT, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate sufficient mechanical and electrical aptitude to understand and perform duties
- Close attention and care are required to prevent damage to equipment
- Ability to read job orders, blueprints, and specifications
- Ability to mentor and train lower level Electrical personnel in the functions of their jobs.
Description of physical working environment:
- Visual acuity to read and write
- Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending, and occasional ladder climbing
- Physical ability to reach inside panels to layout, drill, and tap holes, and mount components.
- Physical strength to lift and carry 25 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds on occasions
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a variety of hand tools
