Solution Architect – Data Solutions Architect

The Solution Architect - Data Solutions Architect owns enterprise data modeling standards and the integration architecture that bridges source systems to RSM's canonical data hub and downstream consumers. This role defines conceptual, logical, and physical data models, governs the canonical data model, and partners with the Solution Architect - Data Platforms and the Boomi iPaaS / API Gateway Architect on integration contracts, orchestration, and routing.

 

Key Responsibilities 

• Own enterprise data modeling standards: conceptual, logical, and physical models, conformed dimensions, and canonical data model governance.

• Design and maintain the canonical data hub and integration contracts (e.g., hub-first CQRS pattern) bridging source systems (Workday, CRM, tax platforms) to downstream consumers.

• Partner with the Boomi iPaaS / API Gateway Architect on orchestration, routing (e.g., YARP-based gateway), and contract versioning.

• Evaluate and apply data modeling methodologies (Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault 2.0) appropriate to each initiative.

• Define entity relationship diagrams (ERDs) and metadata-driven schema patterns (e.g., JSONB generic store) where applicable.

• Partner with the Solution Architect - Data Platforms to ensure canonical models align to lakehouse/medallion consumption layers.

• Establish integration standards for master/reference data synchronization and change-data-capture strategies.

• Lead data model reviews as part of ARB submissions, producing architecture review reports with severity-rated findings and action items.

• Maintain the data dictionary, model documentation, and integration interface catalogs.

• Support hyper-care for new integrations, driving root cause analysis for data-model-related defects.

 

Qualifications & Experience 

• 8+ years of experience in data modeling and/or integration architecture, including at least 4 years in enterprise environments.

• Deep hands-on expertise with conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling and ER modeling tools.

• Experience designing canonical data models and API / iPaaS integration contracts (e.g., Boomi AtomSphere or comparable).

• Familiarity with API gateway / reverse-proxy patterns (e.g., YARP) and CQRS architecture.

• Knowledge of master data management and reference data governance.

• Experience operating in regulated environments and adhering to SOC 2 / SOX control requirements.

• Strong communication skills; ability to engage business stakeholders, integration developers, and platform architects.

• Prior experience partnering with data platform architects on lakehouse/medallion consumption patterns.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $147,000 - $260,700
