Job Description:
Director, AI Client Assurance
Fidelity Workplace Investing is seeking an experienced professional with 7 plus years of relevant corporate or consulting experience related to AI model development, engineering, product development, risk management or governance. This is primarily a customer-facing role, responsible for interacting with various stakeholders to provide assurance around our AI program in writing or meetings.
The Role
The key responsibilities of this role include addressing AI related requests or questions from clients and prospects, identifying, analyzing and communicating trends in client AI requests and expectations, discovering improvement opportunities to the current process and contributing to their implementation.
The successful candidate will act as an AI subject matter expert to address inquiries from clients and prospects. The candidate is expected to have significant knowledge of data science, AI engineering, AI governance/risk management, data privacy and security, model lifecycle, AI product development, as well as high proficiency in business writing and verbal communication. This candidate will work collaboratively with experts in domains such as data and AI governance, data science, privacy, legal, contracts, compliance, risk, customer protection, information security, engineering, product owners, sales, and relationship management. In addition, your responsibilities may include:
- Acting as a senior point of contact for sales and relationship management as well as external customers, where applicable, clearly communicating Fidelity’s AI capabilities, governance, and risk management, and responsible AI approaches.
- Overseeing and guiding responses to AI inquiries, translating technical information, governance, and risk management practices into clear, business focused outcomes.
- Leading a process improvement effort using technology and best practices.
- Contributing to AI committees to ensure client concerns and expectations are accounted for in AI model reviews and other AI governance processes.
The Skills and Expertise You Bring
- Bachelor’s / master’s in data science/analytics, engineering, business, project management, other quantitative or technology fields, or equivalent experience in a professional environment
- Knowledge of or hands-on experience in data science, AI engineering, AI governance/risk management including ethics, data privacy and security, and model lifecycle
- Professional business written and verbal communications including technical writing, creative writing, and ability to interact with external and internal stakeholders from different functions
- Experience in using Microsoft copilot or similar LLM tools
- Any prior experience in handling requests for proposal/information is preferred
- Ability to pick up new knowledge fast and enthusiastic about continuous learning and ongoing improvement
- Be proactive and take initiatives; thinks creatively, drives tasks and initiatives to completion and insists on the highest level of quality

The team partners with data scientists, engineers, legal, risk, compliance, privacy, data governance, customer protection, information security, various governance boards, and business and technology leaders to support AI in Fidelity Workplace Investing (WI). WI helps employers lead a successful employee benefits program and to improve employees’ overall well-being by offering a broad range of integrated financial, health, and benefits solutions.
Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
