Description

Under direction of the Director of Aging Partners, the Age-Friendly Lincoln Implementation Coordinator supports the execution of the Age-Friendly Lincoln Action Plan, a multi-year community initiative designed to enhance livability, inclusion, accessibility, and quality of life for older adults in Lincoln. This temporary position plays a vital role in coordinating projects, engaging community stakeholders, tracking progress, and helping ensure the successful implementation of the strategies identified in the City's Age-Friendly Action Plan. Work involves collaboration across departments, partners, and community organizations, including activities outlined in the Age-Friendly drafts and implementation plans.

This is a grant related position, with an anticipated end date of August 31, 2027.

This position will work out of the Victory Park Aging Center at 600 S. 70th Street and will work approximately 20-25 hours a week.  This position is not eligible for benefits.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Program & Project Coordination

  • Support implementation of strategies across the domains of Communication & Information, Transportation, and Housing, as outlined in the Action Plan.
  • Assist with scheduling, coordinating, and documenting task force or working group meetings.
  • Maintain project files, timelines, and progress tracking systems.

Community Engagement & Outreach

  • Coordinate outreach campaigns that elevate awareness of Age-Friendly initiatives.
  • Respond to stakeholder questions, distribute updates, and assist with public information materials.

Data Collection, Reporting & Evaluation

  • Prepare monthly status updates and briefing materials for Aging Partners leadership.
  • Document best practices and lessons learned.

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Working with Aging Partners Public Information Specialist, assist with internal and external communications, presentations, and digital content related to Age Friendly.
  • Provide logistical support for in-person and virtual events.
  • Work with Administrative Aide to manage calendars, meeting notes, and basic support.

Compliance & General Support

  • Maintain confidentiality and data privacy protocols in accordance with city policies.
  • Support special projects or cross-department initiatives related to Age-Friendly work.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Aging Partners.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse partners, departments, and community organizations.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and capacity to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with Teams/Zoom desirable.
  • Ability to collect, organize, and interpret data for reporting.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Gerontology, Human Services, Community Development, Social Work, or related field.

Experience

  • At least one year of experience in program coordination, community engagement, or project support work.
  • Experience working with aging populations, government programs, nonprofit initiatives, or community-based efforts is preferred.
