Join a Hospitality Company That's Changing the Way People Stay
Furnished Quarters is a privately owned, LGBTQ+ diverse company and one of the largest independently owned providers of short-term furnished housing. For over 25 years, we've been redefining the guest experience with curated apartment stays in vibrant cities across the globe. Now we're looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to join our Human Resources team in New York and help us deliver a responsive, people-first employee experience.

What You'll Do
As the Human Resources Coordinator, you'll be a first point of contact for employees, managers, and candidates across the organization. On a typical day, you'll respond to HR requests, coordinate interviews and onboarding, keep personnel records accurate and confidential, and track training, compliance, and performance review deadlines. You'll also lead new-hire orientation, support employee engagement initiatives, and find practical ways to streamline HR work.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to routine HR requests from employees, managers, and candidates, tracking items through resolution, and escalating sensitive matters
  • Distributing HR communications and announcements and completing employment verifications
  • Posting job openings, screening applications, conducting HR screening interviews, and coordinating interviews with hiring teams
  • Coordinating background and reference checks, offer letters, and new hire documentation
  • Managing onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding from start to finish, including systems access and checklists
  • Leading new hire orientation and HR-led training and partnering with managers on department training
  • Assigning and tracking required safety and compliance training and following up on overdue items
  • Supporting new hire benefits enrollment and following up on outstanding elections
  • Maintaining accurate, confidential personnel records, including Form I-9 and E-Verify documentation
  • Coordinating required workplace postings, employee notices, and policy acknowledgments
  • Tracking performance review cycles and sending manager reminders
  • Planning and executing employee engagement and wellness initiatives and events
  • Maintaining HR SOPs and identifying opportunities to improve and automate HR workflows

What Makes This Role Unique
  • You'll touch every stage of the employee lifecycle, from first interview to last day
  • You'll be cross-trained across HR functions and may take the lead on designated workflows and projects
  • You'll use modern tools, including AI, to build smarter HR processes and reduce manual work
  • You'll join a team that values Challenge, Collaboration, Care, Career, and Community

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience
  • 2+ years of HR or HR administrative experience, including onboarding, orientation, or training
  • Working knowledge of Form I-9, E-Verify, confidentiality, and core employment law requirements
  • Experience with an applicant tracking system and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities independently
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now, JazzHR, Asana, DocuSign, or AI tools such as Claude is a plus
  • Multi-state or international HR experience, or a background in hospitality, is a plus

Perks & Benefits
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance
  • Medical FSA and commuter benefits
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off
