Job description

A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Healthcare Data Modeler to design operational and analytical data models across cloud and on-premises environments. The position focuses on healthcare data modeling, source-to-target mapping, complex data transformations, and the OMOP Common Data Model.

The Data Modeler will translate business and technical requirements into scalable data structures while supporting common standards, governance, performance, and enterprise data initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Profile and analyze healthcare data to understand structures, relationships, dependencies, and transformation requirements.
• Gather and translate business and technical requirements into data-modeling solutions.
• Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Develop operational and analytical models using established data-modeling patterns and techniques.
• Create and maintain detailed source-to-target mappings for healthcare datasets.
• Design complex data transformations to support integration and analytics requirements.
• Establish and apply data-modeling standards and naming conventions.
• Optimize data models for performance, scalability, governance, and compliance.
• Support enterprise data initiatives and shared data models.
• Manage data models using IDA and RTC processes and tooling.
• Work with datasets across GCP, other cloud environments, and on-premises platforms.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders throughout Agile delivery and the software development lifecycle.

Required experience and skills

• Advanced SQL skills.
• Strong knowledge of data-modeling patterns and techniques.
• Experience designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Experience with OLTP and OLAP data modeling.
• Knowledge of data warehousing and dimensional modeling.
• Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with data integration and data governance practices.
• Experience creating healthcare source-to-target mappings.
• Experience designing complex data transformation solutions.
• Experience working with GCP and cloud-based datasets, as well as on-premises data environments.
• Expertise with the OMOP Common Data Model (CDM).
• Experience with data-modeling tools, with IDA preferred, and familiarity with RTC data-model management.
• Healthcare domain knowledge is preferred.
• Experience working with Agile and SDLC methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
