2. GENERAL JOB SUMMARY

Aptean is seeking a multidisciplinary Experience Designer with a specialism in website personalisation. You will design experiences on Aptean.com that help visitors discover relevant solutions and take the right next step, adapting content and interactions to audience needs, industry, intent and customer relationship where reliable information is available.

 

Your remit spans UX, UI, content hierarchy and interaction design, from initial entry through subsequent pages and return visits. You will support a prioritised roadmap of more than 50 experiences, balancing commercial value, visitor needs and delivery effort. Working with Personalisation Specialists, the CRO Lead and content teams, you will take ideas through journey mapping, prototyping, implementation handover and improvement after launch.

 

3. SCOPE

Designs personalised variants and components across desktop, tablet and mobile while maintaining consistency with the Aptean.com design system and the default page. The role covers visual asset creation or adaptation, responsive and accessible design, build handover, pre-launch quality checks and collaboration with personalisation, CRO, product marketing and UX teams to deliver a high volume of detailed work on schedule.

 

4. ORGANIZATION

You will own experience design and design specifications, with mentorship and standards within Aptean Design Studio. Personalisation Specialists will own audience configuration and Optimizely implementation. The CRO Lead will lead test strategy and statistical evaluation, with your input on hypotheses and interpretation. Martech and development colleagues will own identity, data connections and technical performance. Content and product marketing partners will support messaging and accuracy.

The roadmap will be delivered in prioritised stages, with time for discovery, design, validation and iteration. Your contribution will be assessed through usable, accessible experiences, reusable patterns and evidence of progress against agreed journey and commercial measures, rather than the number of variants produced alone.

 

5. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

• Map personalised journeys across landing, industry, solution and product pages, maintaining relevant messaging and next steps as visitors navigate.
• Design for new visitors, returning visitors and recognised customers. Work with specialists to distinguish verified information from inferred interests and define appropriate experiences for each.
• Create responsive page variants and components, including forms, customer proof, recommendations and calls to action. Adapt graphics and product visuals to support audience needs.
• Specify audience conditions, triggers, rule priorities and default states with Personalisation Specialists. Include experiences for missing data, unavailable personalisation and visitors who change their preferences.
• Use and contribute to the Aptean.com design system. Develop reusable personalisation patterns and collaborate on structured content in Contentful to support consistent delivery at scale.
• Use research, behavioural insights and analytics to identify opportunities. Help the CRO Lead frame hypotheses and success measures, then use results to refine designs.
• Prepare clear Figma prototypes and specifications for implementation in Optimizely, including interactions, content requirements and behaviour across screen sizes.
• Review builds for journey continuity, audience scenarios, responsive behaviour and WCAG accessibility requirements, alongside visual accuracy. Design appropriate defaults when consent or data is unavailable.
• Collaborate with web UX, content, product marketing and development teams. Prioritise work with the roadmap owners and communicate effort, dependencies and tradeoffs early.

Work Experience

Experience with Optimizely or a comparable experimentation platform, Contentful or another CMS, and behavioural analysis tools. Familiarity with customer lifecycle journeys, relevant product recommendations and the practical limits of visitor identification would be useful.

Knowledge

• You understand content hierarchy and can collaborate with writers to adapt messaging, recommendations and calls to action for different audiences.
• You design confidently for mobile and desktop, considering accessibility, form usability and interaction states from the outset.
• You balance delivery pace with quality, reuse components effectively and manage multiple priorities through an agreed roadmap.
• You communicate clearly, welcome critique and work well with specialists across design, marketing and technology.
• Your portfolio shows the problem, audience, journey, design reasoning and outcomes. Include personalisation or experimentation examples where available.

Skills and Abilities

• You have experience designing websites and digital journeys, ideally for B2B or software businesses, with strong UX and visual design skills.
• You are confident in Figma, including components, design systems, interactive prototypes and clear developer handover.
• You can translate audience needs and available signals into useful experiences, and recognise when assumptions need validation.
• You have contributed to hypothesis-led experiments and can use research, analytics and test results to explain and improve design decisions.
